The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Ok, please forgive my stupidity here but won't the scope block the view of the iron sites?

Well, ideally you'd want to use throw lever rings. Therefore, if your scope fails, you can take it off quickly and fold up the irons.

With red dot optics, you'd have the ability to co-witness, meaning, you could access your flip up sights through the tube of the optic.

Ok, I am just wary of removing the scope and replacing it without rezeroing, is that an issue? What do you think of the 45 degree offset sites?

The larue mount is pretty much return to zero. But, like anything else, it's something you'd want to confirm. I can't speak to others, as I've only had experience with the larue. I've personally found it to be very close on reattaching.

I've never used the offset sights. So I can't speak to it. A lot of people are running them these days though.

so my wife and I just finished the process for TN HANDGUN CARRY PERMIT, took theclass last Saturday at Range USA ,CHIP Holland was our instructor, kept everyone awake and poked fun at my UT hat.And I (carefully)poked fun at his statement regarding MS laws, particularly the one where you cant carry in a "House of Ill Repute" "that includes Ole Miss", I responded and we had a good laugh. he covered everything,(he could in 8 hours) we will be pursuing more training, instruction and knowledge.

my question for you permit holders is how long does it actually take after DMV APP finished and paid,FINGER PRINTS to receive my actual permit? ive heard everything from 1 week recently to 3 months!

thanks! btw proud to say the wife and I both scored 100 written and 99 on the live fire test. expected of me, but my wife is new to handguns and she is 5 months pregnant! so I'm very proud of her. (I pulled one when I caught a ricochet in the hands being on the end of the line!)

I got my permit back in a little over a week.

Got my new Sig 516 out to the range today. Easy to shoot, very accurate with the irons. I'm going to pick up a Vortex red dot next week.
