I’ve been wanting a rifle for a while now. Is the M&P15 of decent quality? I don’t need a Daniel or anything, but don’t want a piece of junk either.

The optic is probably 120$.
Case magazine and amo add up in a hurry.

I would love to have one but expensive for gun and ammo. Ruger has a 5.7 under $600. 57 5.7X28MM BLACK 20RD MAG

I like my Ruger 57.
You can buy a whole lot of ammo for the difference in price.
Check the price on 57 ammo before you buy. Trust me

Would there be any trouble swapping out hand guards to a free float guard? I’m not familiar with what is interchangeable

looks like an odd-shaped gas block. might have limited options. I'd check into that.

Sorry, just saw this. Yes, it's a good entry level AR. S&W builds good rifles for the money.

Save your pennies. It's a fun pistol, but there's better for the money and way more available ammo.

looks like an odd-shaped gas block. might have limited options. I'd check into that.

Easy replacement if needed though. A gunsmith should be able to swap it out for a low pro in about 20 minutes or so.

I’ve had the FN and the Ruger. I kept the Ruger.

Both are fine
