The Official #16 Tennessee @ South Carolina Game Thread, 7:30 PM ET, SEC Network

This absolutely BLOWS my mind. As well as anyone who has ever played football that is a Vol fan, or even pays attention to the games.

The fact that people STILL defend JG is just absolutely amazing to any rational, intelligent person.

Are yall Socialists too?

Despite the fact it has failed EVERY single time it has been implemented, and Venezuelan folks are starving as we speak due to Socialism...yall never fail to say...

" they just didn't do it right. It will work THIS time..."

How can anyone still defend a QB that after 5 years cannot deliver a football to WIDE open receivers accurately...nor on time???

HoW?????

How the Hades can you be this blind man?

Do yall not know what an accurate pass looks like anymore? Is that it???

Or are you just related? Mrs. Guarantano, is that YOU???

How can anyone defend him? As a person? ? Sure. Seems like a good guy.... as a QB???

We should have been up 21 at halftime. Period. He left that many wide open WR on the field. We won this game by pure WILL on the part of an exhausted defense, and an Oline that showed up a little in the 2nd half.
Look anything like the ball to Palmer or Johnson? Is he elite? No. He’s not horrible. Objectively. Which is what Passer Rating is. How can you not see that? Not a socialist, what are you babbling about?

Someone said it earlier. Do not start JG at QB. He does more when he comes off the bench. Agree with a lot of fans. The game should not have been that close

My point being USC felt totally comfortable stacking the box on every play, including a 3rd and 27. With a serviceable QB, you could at least run a draw and catch them off guard.

With JG, everyone in the stadium knew a run was coming. Hell, USC could have put 6 DL and 5LB all in the box and we still would not have felt comfortable letting JG pass the ball.
After the false start it was in our best interest to burn their timeouts and run clock.

Some of the play calls didnt help him out, but he went 19-31 (2) total tds, no turnovers and was only sacked once, actually used his legs.Yes he overthrew his receivers several times but a win is a win is a win
Yes. But the sights have to be raised above SC eventually, and you have to admit

1) We've seen this from JG more times than we haven't.

2) It isn't good enough to beat the big dogs in the SEC.

I'll bite. Give us your playing resume!

The Vols were 1 of 11 on third down efficiency and 0 of 1 on fourth down. Also, USC had a 10 minute time of possession advantage. Inconsistent QB play is gassing our defense. The passing stats look good when viewed in isolation, but the box was stacked and open receivers were missed badly. JG just doesn’t pass the eye test, no matter his QBR.

With a 4 point lead, less than 3 minutes and you think we ought to throw the ball? It’s not an indictment of JG. You want to run the clock and don’t take any risks.
We run the ball there even with Peyton at QB. However, the staff showed no confidence in Guarantano tonight on third down. He is a senior.

Considering most of our issues on defense were in the secondary tonight, that has nothing to do with Henry. We had a freshman replace Shamburger and coach Boom exploited that with Smith. I do feel like Pruitt/Ansley should've put Taylor on him tho. That, and our DL not only needs work (which Pruitt aluded to) but they got tired out cause our offense didn't help to keep them off the field. Just my 2 cents.

I agree about the secondary, but I'm afraid he is going to be a little lite to play middle lb in the sec I sure hope I'm wrong.

I just like the fact that everyone is complaining about the way we won a road SEC game against a coach with a 7–1 record against us. I think this is part of step 3 in the 12 step BVS anonymous program. We should be very proud!

Go Vols A Win is a Win. Alot of unknowns due to missed practice times so to go on the road and get the W 1-0 . Now watch film and get better on the practice field.

At the end of the day...we were favored by 3.5 and won by 4. Coulda blown em out. SHOULD have blown 'em out...but winning by 4 is a hell of a lot better than losing by 4. We have the nations longest winning streak....we are 1-0 in the SEC...we won on the road against Muschamp...it isn't all bad.
