Guys

On 3rd and 27, USC had 8 guys in the box.

And we ran the ball.

That is the single biggest indictment of JG possible.

And of JP if he has not been able to get a serviceable QB on roster.
... and it was the wise move. When are we going to get back to having confidence in our QB play? This is ridiculous.

YOu have to keep the clock running. An incomplete pass stops the clock. It was the correct call.

Some of the play calls didnt help him out, but he went 19-31 (2) total tds, no turnovers and was only sacked once, actually used his legs.Yes he overthrew his receivers several times but a win is a win is a win
1 for 10 on third down mainly because he grossly over threw his receivers who ran great routes to get open.

142 passer rating and the win. Anything else?
Stats without context are worthless, but we did get the win.....but luck doesnt last forever...and we wont always have 1st rd NFL CBs benched in the 2nd half against us....JG torn up 2nd string CBs that like to have PI penalties too against Missouri...

I said it earlier and I'll say it again, I refuse to believe JG is the best we got to start. I know I'm no coach, but I would think that there is a difference between performance in practice and performance during game day. Some people perform better under pressure, I don't think JG is that type of person. Big difference between a practice where they don't want to hurt their players and a game where the other team is out to destroy you. It's unfortunate that we don't have the early non-conference games this year so we could test the waters a bit with our QB's. Give them some valuable reps. I dunno, I probably don't know what's best...but it's just how I feel.
You have right to be bothered.... He was pulled last year.... And had to be brought back in to help the team several times. With no Spring and inconsistent practices due to quarantine..... Hard to have anyone get better and prove they are better

Well while it's fresh. JG is pretty much what he has been for the past couple years. You can't teach speed, and you can't teach accuracy. Done. And because of it we let SC hang around. Defense disappointed, they're better than that, and I think they'll get back to it. Play calling is suspect, regardless of whether or not JG can hit a damn open receivers. They don't ask how much but how many, Vols won.....it's a good thing. What you are is still measured by is the body of work against FL, GA, AL, etc.
Very good analysis imo, we won't win against "good" teams with this performance, we have potential, but it remains potential, and with JG behind center it will probably remain so

We started better than last year. The false start on the final drive a killer. JG threw the ball badly. JG didn't turn the ball over. Mental penalties (Banks cost us 3 points. We missed Shamburger. Thought we ran the ball decent. Our D line played decent Really impressed with Barron. Our WR's are going to be good. I would like to say that with only 21 practices and alot didnt have that many they found a way to win. Proud of the team and that also includes JG.

I hate to say this..but JG ain't to blame for what shouldn't have been a nail biter.

In what way? He went 19/31. He was very inconsistent. Majority of the balls he threw were inaccurate, either behind the recievers or too high. Only had 1 TD pass.

Breaking: In a striking moment of honesty, CJP admits JG overthrows his receivers high, signaling 2020 is truly the apocalypse.

What surprised me was he was tickled to death that they won. The last couple years he didn’t seem to be the type to mince words. Now he’s fine with a terrible win.

Either Chaney has lost the ability to effectively call an offense, or he just has no clue what to do when JG is going way off his mark.

Your 5th year Senior QB cannot be the stumbling block of your offense.
