Don’t love the Gainey signing. I guess that’s a pretty clear signal now that the staff does not see the 5th year happening and is encouraging them to move on. Dang. We’re a guard short for next year’s team and Gainey could have solved that.
We have been a guard short since Rick got here. I don’t think he has ever played more than 3 consistent minutes. It’ll be fine. We need Bishop to step up and for a freshman to be capable of giving us 10-15 minutes every night.

I mean we could not get the answers we are looking for with the backup guards and still be pretty much in line with what to expect from a Barnes team if we stay healthy. We have post depth and should be good to great with our perimeter starters.

The NBA draft makes me mad every year. Guys that get completely overshadowed against us are 1st rd picks. Yet Chaz who shoots 40% from 3 and was the best player on the court against these guys gets passed up likely becuase he is 23. What a joke some of these GMs are...

Very simple - the NBA (much like the NFL) drafts based on projection of how good a player will be at the next level, measurables you can't teach or coach (wingspan, standing jump, etc.), and age. Production at the college level is a consideration, but only in service to the other factors, and older prospects have less time to develop and need to be plug-and-play, limiting their potential upside.

The exact opposite of team player. What a clown.

He's reversing course and reporting today. Clearly his clown show group of "advisors" got the word that there was going to be no trade and Ace had no options here beyond Utah, and if he sat out the year he would be toxic in next year's draft. He is now saying he is "thrilled" to be going to Utah.

I'm just happy that the Sixers didn't lose their collective minds and pick this kid a #3.

Igor has the size and all the tools to be a stretch 4, small ball 5, 3&D type role player in the NBA if he can get some consistency in his game. I'm hoping the illness he had early last season is what held him back from being what we all expected last season.

Shack being drafted is just amazing, getting a contract and a real shot at a roster spot. If that kid can make even 35% of corner 3's, he's going to have a career as a defensive stopper 'glue-guy' type that good teams like having on the bench.

It’s still fascinating to see guys like Mark Sears, RJ Davis, Caleb Love go undrafted after being multi-year scoring factors for their respective college teams.

I suppose John Elway and Eli Manning were clowns also.

What both of them did was pathetic, but they had something that Bailey doesn't have - leverage. Utah was clearly willing to sit and wait this out, and clearly Bailey's advisors got the message that they had no options.
