The Official “Regular Posters of the Basketball Forum” Thread

What are the red shirt rules in basketball? I know in football freshman can play in 4 games now and still redshirt. Looks like basketball should allow for a freshman to play in a few games and still redshirt.

Basketball has different rules than football. To get a redshirt a player can not play at all. They can however play in the exhibition games.

The medical hardship waiver can be used when the condition is fully documented, the player did not participate in the last 50% of any games, and they played in no more than 30% of the games. Fulkerson will get a MHW. The team applies to the league office and they can appeal to the NCAA if it's denied. The application for a medical hardship waiver doesn't have to be made immediately after the injury (or medical condition), so the schools may not make an official announcement for some time. Fulkerson for example is a junior academically. The application to extend his eligibility could actually be made a year from now.

Reactions: Volswami
And rumors that Frank Martin might take the job at Miami. A lot of SEC openings.

Anytime you can hire a guy that has one NCAAT appearance in seven years you gotta do it. Martin is so overrated

This guy really does everything he can to try and discredit UT. This of course ignores that UT is 87th in the country in free throws attempted

Does anyone know how they decide how many days in between the round of 32 to sweet 16. For example if Tennessee wins tomorrow we only have 4 days till we play again. Some teams have 6. Just luck of the draw I guess?

When you think about all of the games being played tomorrow, then remember Tennessee plays and if they lose you won’t be able to enjoy them
