The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

I believe the honorable thing to do is close this thread forever. This is not a "rivawlwy". Vandy is pathetic, we know it. Move on.

But in the perpetual tornadoes and tsunamis and earthquakes that is VN, this thread is a gently, but determinedly, rolling stream.

It makes me happy. I hope it stays.
I say that Freak should lift the ban on immyaxl. I would enjoy his return right about now.
Heck, we should invite him back. :clapping:

"And at least we didn't get beat as badly as Penn State got beat today. And we looked better than Tennessee looked when they lost to us 41-18."

This is funny for several reasons.

Lol. There are 20-year-old Vandy fans who will still be telling their great-grandchildren the story of the 2012 season.

No joke, I remember when they were talking about the 1982 game like that. I remember in 2004 before the Vandy game at their place I told my friend "I bet you they have some kind of video tribute to the 1982 game before the game" and 2 minutes later one started playing on their video screen.

I know this thread would be so much more fun with a couple vandy fans in the mix. We should try to bring some in so we can make fun of em.lol

Not really. They are worse than the Florida fans on here. I mean, at least the Gators can back up their trolling with our current record. Vandy would continue talking about this "current" 2-3 record against us and how awesome next season will be when Mason hits the recruiting trail and finds diamonds in the rough and high spirited players that get the best education in the SEC and the chance to play as a freshman.

Derek Mason: "We are going to recruit our tails off. We are going to make sure we close the gap as fast as we can."

Heard someone got a beast DE commitment today and it wasn't Vandy. Mason would be better off not talking at all.

Letter to Vandy from a Vandy fan. Why would they expand an empty stadium?

"Dear Mr. Williams,

Two years ago, there was a stadium upgrade survey. I love to hear those results.

If there is a upgrade schedule, where are we at? I think the seating plan inside the stadium needs some dramatic rethinking even before we break grounds on renovation.

I am excited about a few ideas that you might find interesting.

Offer a new system for season tickets renewal.

One anecdote that inspires my email is from my 70 year old father-in-law who was moved by Paul Houlihan years ago and now sits on the 50 yard line in a section that has become a sea of road game rival fans. He is still scarred by that decision. At the time, it was either increase your Commodore Club donation or we will move your seats to avoid a cost increase.

And scarred by siting with rival fans? (In an empty stadium?) lol Scarred? Really?

Semi-drunken conversation from the 4th quarter while the game was winding down last night:

Guy sitting in front of us asks "Should the SEC pay Vanderbilt $100 million dollars to go away?" He asked after taking a long look at their visitor's section and remarking how they barely brought more than North Texas.

I kinda scoffed at it but he made at least an interesting case for it. Instantly improve your football game inventory by at least 8-10 games. Expand into a new TV market while not losing any current ground. You'd lose their baseball program as far as non-revenue goes....and that's about it.

I still enjoy having a built-in patsy for most years, but it at least made me think...

They wouldn't take it. Just to love to boast about collecting 30 million from the SEC every year while basically doing nothing. Next they post a baseball cheer.

Then they post about the big schools and how dirty and money oriented the SEC is. I must admit it is confusing...then I remember...it's Vandy.

They really should kick them out of the SEC. Bring in a team from North Carolina or Virginia.

Straight comedy. I bet he was beating his chest when Franklin was running their program.

Re: No matter how many times some say Butchugger, it doesn't

Congrats for taking advantage of the weakest SEC East ever.

Butch still can't win when it matters, so enjoy the ride, trolls.

they had their starters on D in when Joe Young scored. We had backups in when they scored though.

That is true. I was just removing any argument a Vandy fan could make...

If Butch wanted the score could have been 67-14 without much effort, but I was glad to see Dobbs, and the D starters on the bench.
