Vandy people. So much better educated than most. But shame for ending a sentence with a preposition!Letter to Vandy from a Vandy fan. Why would they expand an empty stadium?

"Dear Mr. Williams,
Two years ago, there was a stadium upgrade survey. I love to hear those results.
If there is a upgrade schedule, where are we at? I think the seating plan inside the stadium needs some dramatic rethinking even before we break grounds on renovation.
I am excited about a few ideas that you might find interesting.
Offer a new system for season tickets renewal.
One anecdote that inspires my email is from my 70 year old father-in-law who was moved by Paul Houlihan years ago and now sits on the 50 yard line in a section that has become a sea of road game rival fans. He is still scarred by that decision. At the time, it was either increase your Commodore Club donation or we will move your seats to avoid a cost increase.
And scarred by siting with rival fans? (In an empty stadium?) lol Scarred? Really?
ptcarter, you are so rightVandy people. So much better educated than most. But shame for ending a sentence with a preposition!

"Dear Mr. Williams,
Two years ago, (DELETE COMMA) there was a stadium upgrade survey. (Or 'A STADIUM UPGRADE SURVEY WAS COMMISSIONED/COMPLETED' CHOOSE APPROPRIATE WORD). I (ADD 'WOULD') love to hear those (THE) results.
If there is a ('AN' NOT A) upgrade schedule, where are we at (DELETE 'AT')? I think the seating plan inside the stadium needs some dramatic rethinking even before we break grounds on renovation. (WEAK SENTENCE CONSTRUCTION AND SO MANY WAYS TO EDIT IT:blink
I am excited about a few ideas that (DEAD WORD) you might find interesting.
Offer a new system for season tickets renewal. (WHAT ARE THE OTHER IDEAS? WHAT NEW SYSTEM WOULD BE RECOMMENDED?)
One anecdote that inspires my email is from my 70 year old father-in-law who was moved by Paul Houlihan years ago and now sits on the 50 yard line in a section that has become a sea of road game rival fans. (RUN ON SENTENCE) He is still scarred by that decision (SCARRED. BY THE DECISION?). At the time, it was either increase your Commodore Club donation (COMMA) or we will move your seats to avoid a cost increase. (ONE ANECDOTE, IS THERE ANOTHER? IF NOT CHOOSE 'AN')
Can't adequately edit on this iPad, but, if this is an example of a Vandy education, their English Department is in dire straits. He wasn't posting in a forum, texting, sending an informal letter. Supposedly this was a serious letter written to a senior administrator at Vanderbilt. If the author was as well educated as Vandy people love to proclaim their alumni are, it seems he could have done better, MUCH better:crazy:.
It's strange to say this but they really have a good defense. Had they used the QB that played us when they played UF, they probably would have beat Florida. Nevertheless I enjoyed thumping Vanderbilt and embarrassed them. Their head coach is a good defensive coach and we made him look ridiculous.
It's amazing how we consistently score points against great defenses and it seems like the SEC media isn't impressed. It's also amazing that Toledo beats Arkansas, Memphis beats Ole Miss and The Citadel beats South Carolina while UGA and Florida having to go into overtime with Goergia Southern and Florida Atlantic isn't that big of a deal to some. That's 5 SEC teams that struggled with lower division teams.
It's a shame that the best SEC teams from each division aren't playing in the championship game.
Really? Even the year they beat the big 3 in the east?
4-4 and finished 4th in '13. Missouri and USC finished on top with UGA in 3rd. Vandy hit 4th in the east a lot under Franklin but never broke it.
I was curious so I looked it up. Before this season it's only happened twice this century that a two SEC win team finished as high as fourth in the east. The gulf between third and fourth this year is titanic.
LOL.
This is the pic they have up for the main image on VM now:

Is this supposed to imply that we were holding all game and that's why we blew them out? What a joke.
Semi-drunken conversation from the 4th quarter while the game was winding down last night:
Guy sitting in front of us asks "Should the SEC pay Vanderbilt $100 million dollars to go away?" He asked after taking a long look at their visitor's section and remarking how they barely brought more than North Texas.
I kinda scoffed at it but he made at least an interesting case for it. Instantly improve your football game inventory by at least 8-10 games. Expand into a new TV market while not losing any current ground. You'd lose their baseball program as far as non-revenue goes....and that's about it.
I still enjoy having a built-in patsy for most years, but it at least made me think...
