The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

This is rich...

"In reality, uut has a better chance of ending up 5-7 than going to a major bowl."

Apparently because BGST beat Indiana, who beat Mizzou in Columbia LAST YEAR, BGST could sneak up on us because we will be looking past them.

Bahahahahahaha first game of the year is somehow a trap game. Imma make sure to enjoy myself to the fullest when I watch their first game. Also the gamecock game but the vandy one more. As fate would have it my ol lady is a gamecock fan so if they're losing I have to contain my true emotions until she leaves. Assuming that game goes as I think it will.

Were huge favorites in what is basically a home game against a team who gave up about 34ppg and 495ypg in the MAC. They literally have lost everyone from their defense to suspension, graduation and dismissal. Hell BGSU has had a worse offseason than FSU with kids getting in trouble but nobody has heard about it bc they are a MAC school. Literally hear it every yr from Vandy fans in Week 1.Heard all summer last yr how we would get whipped by USU. Then they went out and got smoked by Temple and they were real quiet after that. I see that its going to be the same way this year.

As bad as Mason is I do have to give him credit with one thing, he isn't afraid to play his schedule. CJF on the other hand would buy out a game in a heart beat to replace it with one of the crappiest teams in all of college football. Thats also why I don't get why people give CJF so much credit for his time at Vandy. 4 of his wins every year were against high school level teams. With a schedule like that you better go to a bowl game every year.

Vanderbilts out of conference schedule is awful. There is no one to buy out. Mason can't buy out a conference game.

I got my ticket for their season opening loss on StubHub. Gonna be sitting in the WKU section wearing a Vols shirt. Cannot wait. I may be more excited for their opening game than I am for ours, and I'm going to both...

who is their P5 OOC game in the future? that pretty much takes away one of their guaranteed wins

Georgia Tech @ GT, WKU and MTSU in 2016 lol

Kansas State in 2017. At MTSU again in 2017. Yikes

Out of those 4 its pretty possible that atleast 3 or 4 of those are losses right now. With each passing season Vandys roster is getting worse and worse thanks to Masons recruiting. Also they play Auburn and Ole Miss in 2016 for their cross division. And then play Alabama and Ole Miss in 2017. Its starting to get ugly lol.

Looks like Mason is recruiting his arse off! LOL:eek:lol::lol:

Mason's recruiting strategy:

-Check the top recruits in TN

-Notice that they're all UT leans

-Check the top recruits in the South

-Notice that none of them have any interest in Vandy

-Move down the recruiting board until you're looking at players who aren't even in the top 50 at their position

-Call them and offer a scholarship

-They commit on the spot because their other offers are from FCS schools

-Hang up the phone and go take a nap

Bingo!:good!:

Does their board know of this glorious thread? I hope so.

Yes, some of them do.

A year or so ago, someone posted a whiny message on Vandymania, asking what they ever did to make UT despise them so much, in reference to this thread.

I would have replied with a link to the Wiki article for "douchebag," but I figured it would have been deleted within 10 seconds.

Brandon is a really really great guy and I'm glad he got the offer. He should be able to compete for playing time there with their current roster situation.

I am not saying the young man isn't a great kid. But with only being able to take 16 players this year i believe. hard to be excited about a 2*, but oh well

He wasn't getting a UT offer ever. All I was saying was that with him being such a good kid that I was glad he would have the opportunity with Vandy. I didn't mean to sound offended or anything and hope it didn't come across that way and I definitely agree with what you're saying.

As long as the kid isn't a loudmouth Twitter punk like some of their players, I'm not going to dislike any recruit for choosing Vandy. It's an awesome opportunity for them, especially if they are projected to be a MAC or C-USA recruit.

Play football, get that degree, and go live a great life.

But I have to laugh at Mason for being so lazy and incompetent that he's seemingly not even trying to get SEC-caliber athletes.

If I were a player I'd rather play for Georgia Southern,Appalachian State or Louisiana-Lafayette in the Sun Belt than play for that joke of a head coach Derek Mason at Vandy.

I probably would as well, but some of the guys they've landed recently don't even have those types of offers.

They're taking kids with Bucknell, Colgate, and Holy Cross offers.

Pretty soon Mason will be recruiting D2 type players. If I were a player that could make it academically in the Patriot or Ivy League Leagues there's no way i'd be going to Nashville
