The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

I'm still laughing at their over/under for wins thread at VM. One guy says 6-6 and Mason winning COTY.

I want to know ONE thing, not a few, not a bunch, ONE thing he has done to lead anyone to believe he could ever be COTY.

In fact just one thing he's done that's been good.

Vandy fans being Vandy fans. They are the most clueless fanbase of all time when it comes to football. The most in-depth "football" discussion I've seen this offseason on their message board is about how explosive they think their offense will be now that they hired that guy from Wisconsin. They really think that simply plugging in a new coordinator is going to solve all of their problems.

they are selling out on their defensive performance vs us as how they are going to be next year. problem is their offense still can't match that low of a score. they refuse to consider that 5 or so starters weren't playing for us that game.

even if their defense was decent its going to get worn down by the time we play them. They are going to be on the field all game long every week. Plus they have zero depth. The offense is still garbage and that hasnt changed at all over the spring, offseason, etc.

Well....his terrible coaching has been the source of much laughing and ridicule....that's good for us. I mean I've gotten much joy from it.

James Franklin on Vanderbilt being "a mess": "I've never (had) that. I've always showed up at a place and it was kind of a mess and then we had to clean up the mess, and right when we got it cleaned up, ended up having to leave to go to the next job for a number of reasons -- more than anything an opportunity."

James Franklin happy at Penn State, not a 'mess' like prior jobs

they are currently pleased to be in the TOP 10 for a 3* WR out of Texas. Except for the real big names i don't get excited for anything less than top 3.

At least this guy gets it, "Honestly talking trash about the team to the east isn't even fun when I think the likelihood of the 'Dores having a winning season is about 5-10%. I would take Dobbs and Butch Jones over what we have right now in a heartbeat, they might not be SEC contenders but it's sure as heck better than what we have." Queue that guy being banned from Vandymania in 3, 2, 1...

yeah the thread about them telling us to calm our expectations down is filled with talk like that.

I love how the title and constant bumping of this thread implies that Vandymania has been melting down for a solid 18 months now. Which is actually pretty accurate.

If you're in Nashville, the queef Jared Stoolman on 94.9/102.5's morning show tried his hardest to bring down UT at every opportunity. It's like, dude, you're slurping on Vanderbilt's football team. Just stop.

ahh dont worry about it. No matter how hard he or anybody else tries to defend Vanderbilt they are still only going to win 2-4 games at the end of the day.

I don't know if many if you know what Whisper is, but I was on it and ran across this picture. At first I was going to make an Ali g joke before I realized this may in fact be James Franklin.

I don't think it is, but I'm a bit concerned with you being on this site that ranks other dudes "hot or not".

word is Vanderbilt is trying to move their opener to Thursday night. UT playing on Saturday in Nashville and taking over their town is a big factor why. They realize how embarrassing of a day that will be for them.

I hope its the stays Saturday. Seeing more orange and red at the Vandy game than black and gold would be priceless. If there are more UT and WKU fans at the game then Vandy fans, does that mean WKU would essentially have the homefiels advantage?

i think the Titans have a preseason game that day. Not sure. That may be why it doesnt happen. I hope it stays the same too. I want them to be embarrassed.

How many Vols fans would actually go to the Vandy game on the same day as the BGSU game, though?

I don't think many give enough of a damn about Vandy to take time out of enjoying Nashville/tailgating to watch the Dores get pummeled by WKU, even if it is just a short trip up Broadway/West End. Still have to deal with getting a cab, finding a place to park, etc.

I will if the game times are far enough apart. As in WKU-Vandy is at 11am and UT-BGSU is at 6pm or vice versa. And tickets are only $10-$15 on the secondary market. I say only but that's probably still too much for a vandy game.

The trip across the bridge from where LP and all the tailgating is all the way over to midtown/west end is really quite the hike unless you're taking an uber or cab. I doubt many Vol fans would bother to attend.
