The Last Dance - A 10-PART DOCUMENTARY EVENT

Jordan said he wanted a shoe deal with Adidas. How different would the shoe game be if he hadn't gone with Nike?
Surely the prices would be lower. I personally don’t purchase J’s because no way am I spending that kind of money when I can easily get 2-3 pair for the price of one of his. I’m an MJ fan but nahhh. I’ll pass.

Also, the 90’s....God what a time to be alive. The most famous athlete on the planet walked around the streets of Barcelona dressed like this, and we all thought he looked cool as ****.98ACA325-B356-42C3-8EE4-EC1F27606EC5.png

I didn’t get the impression that it was ever that big of a deal. Really seemed like kind of a minor thing that they just pointed out saying it was the closest he ever came to any public controversy.
They exaggerated that part. Star athletes don’t endorse political candidates today and they sure weren’t paying attention 30 years ago.

You can tell any story you want when you cherry-pick. MJ only saw one SG that looked close to that in six finals.

The guy on the left was also 20 or 21 when that picture was taken. He'll be fully developed in about 4 years.

BTW, the guy on the right shot 15% from 3p for his career.

Is it shooting or strength and athleticism you want to argue? You have been making the "evolved athlete" argument. If they were so much more advanced physically now the guy on the left would never look like that and even make it to the NBA. Augmon went into the league looking like that.

The fact is less athletic and physically tough guys can play now due to spacing created by increased reliance on the three.

At age 23, cherry picker.

Huerter would have been a big SG in the early 90's, despite his being a skinny young buck. Byron Scott, Jeff Hornacek, Danny Ainge, John Starks, Joe Dumars, Hersey Hawkins...he's got them all by 3 to 5 inches.

Steve Smith, Reggie Miller, Clyde Drexler all top players of the 90s at sg, all 6'7. Tall and actually good sgs. All taller than Spyda, Harden, Beal, Booker, Oladipo and almost every All Star sg. Klay and PG are the only good 6'7 sgs right now and PG played the 3 much of his career. Huerter is tall and not very good. There were a ton of tall no name guards in the 80s and 90s too.

All of the 6'7 90s guys were All NBA level at some point. Then you had other All Stars like Spree, Mitch Richmond and Majerle all taller or just as tall and more athletic than the current guys. The new sgs are pretty much all 6'4 or 6'5.

You tried naming players who mainly played in the 80s or were not All Stars. The 90s guys and the All star or All NBA players were taller. I have already pulled up and posted heights of All NBA shooting guards during the MJ era and the Lebron era. The MJ era had way more height at guard. Its a fact. I can pull up a million small shooting guards paying right now.

Jordan would put 100 on Huerter, what is the point of this conversation

Yeah, OK. Jordan never put up 70 on anyone and there were some terrible defenders in the 80's and 90's, but just say whatever. It's cool.

You wouldn't put Huerter on Jordan. You'd put Hunter or Reddish on Jordan....because every team now has multiple wings with length and athleticism, even the lowly Hawks. In the '80s, the elite Celtics were stuck with Ainge, DJ, and Carlisle defending MJ and it took him 2 OT's to score 63.

How many possessions were they cranking out per 48 min in the 80s? How many 3s were attempted/made? Why are you talking in circles and cherry picking while crying about other people cherry picking?

As @GAVol alluded to, Augmon made the league specifically because he was an athlete. Why are we comparing him to a guy that makes the league as a 3p specialist? If we're going to single guys out, shouldn't we be comparing Huerter to Tim Legler or somebody along those lines? We might as well compare centers to PG's.

Maybe slightly compared to some 2 guards, but he was 6’4” and made a bunch of all-defensive teams. Probably not a good example of a defensive liability.

I'm gonna need an official measurement on that ; )

He's a great defender but you can only do so much against a guy who is much bigger and more athletic than you. DJ's wingspan looks average, too. I'll take 22 YO De'Andre Hunter with an 86" wingspan over a 31 YO, undersized DJ.

LMAO. This is why your arguments have no weight. He scored 69. So he put up 70 damn near.

So what you are saying is actual 2 guards today, no matter how tall, can't check him?

If he played today he would average about 47 a game. He would be like Harden mixed with kawhi mixed with KD mixed with Kyrie.
