wow people are really desperate
No denying his coaching abilities. He would win big here and recruit at a high level. Id love too see his energy back on the sideline, loved his Spurrier-esque personality.

However, I don't see this happening

He had been saying that Pruitt was fired for cause since Texas a&m game so he knows enough.
Yeah has that plane with Lovey Smith landed yet?...He said there was a chance he would be fired for cause...he knew as much as we did at the time.

Think about it. How many would take another job you wanted and the company said they needed you now! You would be there in a second. But if that didn’t work out would you have the guts to back and ask if you could come back. I’m sure a lot of have been in this position. You think about it.KIffin knows football plus he is entertaining

Lane Kiffin is such a valued offensive mind that Nick Saban elected to go with a guy who hadn’t called a play all year than to let him stay with the team for the National championship game. He didn’t even do that with Pruitt after he was hired here. He just wanted him gone yesterday. That’s a close second to being fired on the tarmac.

F saban

Now that we have a legit AD we might not have to go the Freeze/Kiffin route with the attendant risks. This hire might open some doors we didn't expect to be accessible to us before.

When you have the talent on both sides of the ball like Saban does it does not take much to make the right call.
Yeah, and I think Saban was dragging him along all year, probably overriding his calls. Every time you saw the two of them together on tv, Saban looked like he was about to have a stroke and Kiffin always looked like he’d just been informed that he had syphilis.

Being 45 miles away from Oxford, my feeling is the Lane Train is quite comfortable at this moment and has no plans to leave the Magnolia state anytime soon.
Hahahhahha, not laughing at you, just remembering feeling the same way when he wore orange!

I think it is known that Kiffin & Saban didn't necessarily see eye-to-eye with everything, but you can't deny his success on the offensive side of the ball. Plus, Kiffin has as much say in staying for the National Championship game as Saban did. He did way better than memory would lead you to believe at USC, who was dealing with their own sanctions at the time. And Kiffin has matured a lot as a coach since those time, and I believe the tarmac incident was a humbling experience for him. Not to mention he took a nobody program in FAU and did way better than he ever deserved to. And went toe-to-toe with Bama this past season.

Lane can recruit, he can coach, and he can energize the fan base. This is a no-brainer if it's a possibility.

Saban has sent us two glowing endorsements (Pruitt and Dooley). You see how that turned out.
