I seriously just wish that the Dems had taken their time and let it play out in courts, but nobody asked me.

Once it gets into the Senate will all those people that Trump blocked come to testify? (So there would be no obstruction) That would be interesting.

They have to, I don't think they have a choice.

Why wouldn't they want to take it up? They can call whatever witnesses they want and ask whatever questions they want, perfect opportunity to show the world what the Dems are.

I’ve seen some speculation that Roberts presiding over the trial will be able to cut through some of the red tape of having to go through the courts. No idea because it’s a pretty unprecedented situation.

I thought I heard they didn't have to but you could be right

I agree with that part of it, also that will keep all Senators in DC and off the campaign trail so I'm surprised they want that.

You raise a critical point. When SCOTUS Chief Justice Roberts presides over the Senate hearing, he theoretically can issue bench rulings on this issue. He conceivably could demand their appearance on behalf of the SCOTUS. It's not impossible, but unlikely.

Would be fun having a hearing not controlled by $hitty schiff so for once we can have a fair hearing and where all witnesses can be called not just those who that pencil neck twerp wants to hear from.
