The Impeachment Thread

Attitudes like this are why IWGAS if a nuclear winter was unleashed on Capitol Hill the next time a (D) holds the office. Burn every bit of it down, and I will laugh at schmucks like you for not realizing the precedent you’ve set, all while you’re crying like a ***** about how it’s not fair!

Just wait. It will come.
Precedent??????
That's just complete and total BS.

This also ignores the issue of political incentives.

We were told, especially at the start, that this was Trump's "impeachment trap"--that it would result in a Democratic dumpster fire, Trump's landslide reelection, yada yada yada.

His supporters must not believe their own spin if they're now talking about how damaging this will be to our future.

If a party strengthens its political hand via impeachment, we'll likely see it again in the future. If it flops, we probably won't. It's kind of self-regulating in that sense.

We haven’t seen the outcome of any of it yet . I’ve never seen both sides so entrenched before . A radical left POTUS will not ease those tensions and I’m just guessing here , but will probably cause even more of a flare up .

I'm with you. I would loudly and consistently condemn an impeachment based on partisanship. I've always been that way.

There are going to be ramifications from this down the road. Should of went with the censure and been done with it, but you hold this tiny glimmer that he will be removed and the nation is anguished.

I go back and forth between C-D , believing a politician either way is iffy at best , throw in the fact that the people running the supposed fact finding inquiry are clowns that can’t stop showing the world what utter partisan hacks they are keeps drawing me back to the 50-50 . In my opinion your biggest mistake was letting a less than credible Schiff run one shoe then turn it over to a less than credible Nadler to call clearly partisan witness that are to dumb to shut up , not lie under oath and not tell the world you are little more than a progressive activist that hates Trump so badly you can’t walk on the same side of the street as a building he owns. None of this lends even the slightest hint of fairness , or a non partisan side show put on for the cameras to garner votes . This is why I have zero respect for any of them and I don’t give a damn about any continuum scale either . Lol
It should come down to whether or not Trump is guilty, but unfortunately it will not.

There has to be some higher standard from the ones in charge for me to believe this isn’t all for show . Like a courtroom judge overseeing the proceedings . Judge Wapner I believe would be honest , Adam Schiff I wouldn’t trust as far as I could drop kick him they are both on TV for entertainment .

There should be equal ramifications to those resulting from the Nixon and Clinton impeachments.

I'll be forced to turn completely selfish.
I'm a married, suburban, upper middle class, southern white guy. If I can just eliminate concern for my fellow man and the futures of my children, I'll be golden.
Really, what kind of threat is that? What can they possibly do worse than having Trump as President, let Russia annex us?

Not on your part, but on the Democratic party and liberals together. No one needs to think 2020 is a sure thing. All hands on deck. Complacency cost the Left last time. No repeats in 2020.

It doesn't appear the grassroots campaign to help people distinguish between fact and innuendo is working.

I think he did something that he knew was not in his power to do , but did it anyway because he had the media and public opinion on his side . Again they all ( in my opinion ) do things that is probably questionable to get what they want . Perception is the only difference .
I disagree. There’s a clear difference between using a broken process to implement a policy that the president thinks is beneficial to the country vs. using a broken process to invite a foreign state to investigate somebody who is running for your job and compromising American interests to make sure they do it. Neither is good but only one is corrupt.
