The Impeachment Thread

The answer was given yesterday. They want us at each others throats, they want hate and division within our country, they want us to tear ourselves apart and you and yours are giving them what they want.

WAIT, WHAT ?!?!?!?!

Look at the insult machine you supported and still support for President !!!! The guy insults everyone that doesn't kiss his azz.

Nice try.

Its because they wanted Trump to win.

Why is that??????

Were they afraid Hillary would have sent troops to kick them out of Crimea and the rest of Ukraine? Fought them over Syria? Just what do you think Hillary would have done that Putin was scared of?

Could it be possible he was simply afraid that a Hillary presidency would have triggered another global recession?

His natural gas business would sure be doing better.

Only an idiot would think they literally change votes, I've never seen anyone but the irrational and trump army foist this strawman. Rational people understand that the memes were are meant to entrench stereotypes and sow division, they work all too well.

While you were under a rock, this forum has thousands of posts in a thread dedicated to reinforcing fakenews, disinformation and bias. Many people here don't have the intellectual capacity to take the memes at hyperbolic face value and instead are conditioned to believe them without a second thought.

The ENTIRE Trump-Russia meme is about nothing if not the proposition that he conspired with Russia to effect the outcome of the election. If the said meddling does not change votes, then it cannot be said that Russia interfered in our election. Incidentally, a position I've held all along; it isn't as though anyone said "Oh, hell with that Trump guy I've been sold on; I'm voting for Clinton now!" or vice-versa.

Of course it was to sow discord, but don't pretend that the left - including Clinton this year - has not propagated the notion that Russia cost her the election or contributed to her loss. The New Yorker, for example, stated Russia meddling was decisive in her loss. It is the left's crutch explanation for having ran an even less palatable candidate than Trump.

Rational people understand our political parties already sow division, and it far overshadows nibbling meddling by foreign entities.

And nowhere has hyperbolic gullibility been more evident than the false Russia-Trump meme for 3.5 years now.

If the house wanted the witnesses, go to court. They didnt. I honestly dont see a losing side for Republicans with this impeachment.

Personally I would have liked to hear from all of them including the whistleblower. But in the childish realm called US politics, you cant act one way and expect to be treated the other way. Doesnt happen, wont happen.

The reason I think a censure would have been better is because it would have given the democrats the win win and the Republicans the lose lose situation. Now ots flipped. That's jmo from an independent voter point of view. Obviously I don't speak for all independents as we are all annoyingly different.

Wow, go away for a few hours and this thread keeps exploding.

The dims really don't want all witnesses; they just want select witnesses ... the ones that represent their side of the argument. It's the way dims and bullies always work - our rules or we take the ball and go home. This has never been about getting to the bottom of things; it's simply been a get Trump movement from the beginning. It's like a murder trial without a corpse ... well, he was thinking about killing so and so - we're telling you that we know so, and we can prove it as long as we use our witnesses and keep the rather lively corpse out of the courtroom..

It started when PT suggested there should be a universal core curriculum. I disagreed and pointed out that universal standards are different than a universal curriculum and then people went back to saying curriculum is just standards.

I do not have a problem with some universal standards though I would err on the side of keeping the list narrow. I do have a problem with a universal curriculum.
I agree with what you're saying. Sorry to have gone in such a round about way to get there.

The constitution got us to where we are at and will take us no further.

The Constitution is what it must be, a compass and not a GPS device delineating every turn and obstacle regarding the governing and consent of the governed. The document is not worth the parchment it's written on if we no longer value and recognize that individuals own themselves and protecting individual liberty protects liberty at large, and for us all. That no one is above the law, but no one is beneath it, either.

The House hasn't impeached anyone, Democrats have. That's why the Senate is established as a check on radical factions in the House. Impeachment is established as a political process, but the basis for impeachment should NEVER be political. The Constitution is fine as written; change the shite people who are subverting it.

Wasted money IMHO - the "Russia!" BS actively promoted by a good amount of the media and Dems has done insanely more of the this than a couple $K of Facebook ads ever could.

Every government agency tasked with investigating Russian interference verified it as fact. The media reported it because all of the government (except the WH) reported it.

Whether trump was involved is debatable, but that it occured (and is still occuring, isn't). Unfortunately, the conflation of the two is low hanging fruit for the lazy.

If you don’t think memes are funny then you are the stick up the azz , low count brain cells kind I was referring to . I’ve found most liberals don’t find memes that funny , but that’s just a personal observation .

Dig through some of @volger contributions, many of his are just vitriolic with no redeeming qualities other than to be hateful. I'd wager he's received hundreds, if not thousands 'likes' for his efforts.

So they'll participate now, right? Oh Goody.

I for one, can't wait for them to all raise their right hand. America deserves the truth and Trump deserves the right to present his first hand account witnesses.

The executive is not subservient to Congress or the inverse. Congress - and certainly not unilateral House Dems - don't get anything they want simply because they stamp their feet. The judiciary is their avenue for dispute, not impeachment. That they have repeatedly not chosen the route exposes most of their claims for the rubbish they are. For instance, insisting Barr disclose the entire Mueller report with no redactions is clearly illegal to do so. Instead of going to court - either to request a judge release the grand jury redactions or to compel Barr to do so - or even send a contingent of senior Dems to view the entire report with a similar Republican contingent, the left took that as opportunity to smear Barr as Trump's personal lawyer; insanity.

The left wouldn't know the truth it latched onto their nose and shat their lap. They've been aided and abetted by praetorian-guard media so long, I'm not sure which is pulling the strings. If you listen to them, IG Horowitz's report exonerates them, Comey, the FBI and intel, even as Horowitz is saying "no, far from it"; it is a devastating indictment of FBI leadership and the organization structurally. And that report isn't the destination, but the point of embarkment. IGs have no power to compel, empanel jury, and no jurisdiction outside of current government employees in their silo. They can't make a Comey, McCabe, or Brennan renew security clearances and talk. Barr and Durham are under virtually no constraints.

It's good you're impatient for truth; hold that thought.

Scarlett Pelosi quoting Rhett. Apparently she thinks it's a new day. Delusion is a wonderful drug.

That's pretty tame.

I'm surprised the right isn't calling her Pontius Pelosi after Trump's comparison to the persecution of Jesus.

Where are my religious homeboys at? Nothing like a politician grandstanding to his frothy-mouthed base like comparing a pvssy grabbing tv reality star to the son of christ.

It's not the content, it's the abilities/needs/backgrounds of the students that can vary. Math is math but the context for learning can vary greatly. Again there's a difference between standards (can do math at level x) and how you achieve that.

If you're shooting to reach the same destination (standards), the paths may vary somewhat, but not that much. I'm talking bigger picture--required classes, textbooks and the like.

Well, no, it isn't debatable at all. Are you proposing that FBI and our intelligence apparatus - with "six ways to Sunday to get back at you" - can't nail Trump if the evidence exists? The IG report: that every single FBI procedural, legal, and ethical abuse of power, exculpatory omission, 'mistake' and 'error' - just coincidentally went against Trump and team? That is some biblical, pre-ordained bad fooking luck, eh?

Talk about low-hanging laziness.

You can stop doing what you admonish others for; collating. Such as collating the existence of Russian meddling with Trump or anyone associated with the campaign. Even thought "media reported it and government reported it" until they no longer could because it didn't happen. And because their agenda and bias did not allow them them to take a breath anytime in the three years prior to spring of 2019 and the release of the Let's Put Mueller's Name on This Report, the left never considered that the meme was a complete fabrication. Or simply didn't care that it was.

Yeah, we'll not be taking scolding from you today.
