Mizuno JPX800s. once we got the shaft right there was no question which club was producing the best ball flight for me. It's sort of an in between club and definitely not a players iron but I'm still able to work the ball both ways so I really don't care.

was that the 800 pro?

Plus, I'm about a full club longer than I was last week which I think is kind of amazing. The bad news is I have to redo my wedges since the yardage gap between my pw and sw is now about 25-30 yards.

The Amp's are lofted pretty strong which I guess is why the standard iron set is 4-gw. I like my Berthas but it's almost impossible to curve the ball from left to right, not that I'm a huge worker of the ball. Same can be said about keeping the ball down. I don't mind the sole but that thick top line is getting old as well.

Amazingly, no. They're the regular 800s. I was skiddish about them at first but I liked the look and I can flat out nail them.

haven't seen that one. our pro is a Mizuno rep, so I get to hit most, but haven't looked at that one. I'm looking hard at that MP 59 because it sets up mighty pure. Does the 800 have offset issues?

No. That's why I like it. You put it down and it doesn't look like an offset shovel.

Try out some Wilson Staff Ci11's. A lot of people won't go for WS because of the brand name, but their clubs are for real. I got a set of Ci9's last year and they're great. They're fairly workable, but still have plenty of forgiveness. They have a pretty thin topline for a CB too. Plus, the Ci11's is just sexy.

They're a little longer than most standard sets though. It works out for me since I'm tall, but if you're short you might want to stay away.

don't like the thinner face talk because of the distance issues with it. Our pro started hitting the MP 59, which is a Ti Muscle, meaning they could keep the half muscle back but adding the lighter metal let them move some weight to add a smidge of forgiveness to them. I hit the hell out of them. If you didn't swing them, you might give them a look.

I'm looking to transition away from blades and that appears to be a very good option.

which course are you playing?
