Greens were in bad shape Monday. Told me they were overhaulling them starting today.

They are. It is $15 to play a round there right now, because of temporary greens and all par 3's are closed. Hopefully it will be better by the end of the summer.

Thanks - will avoid the place. Love the layout, but they have struggled with those greens for years. They claimed they were going to shut it down for a period last August and have UT in to do analysis and maybe rebuild them. Guess that got pushed back.

This fits what they said they were going to do last August. Thanks.

Has anybody played and know the condition of Egwani Farms of late? Have a friend that has never played it and wants to try it, but it has been several years since the last time I was there to know the condition.

Played there 3 weeks ago, it was in pretty good shape. Greens were nice.

I play links courses around here and in SC about 90% of the time so a 280 carry would do me very little good. I go for medium trajectory and a 250 carry. Would be hard to hit it higher anyway with an ACL reconstructed left knee and at my age (58). Agree on the set up though. Never gave it much thought until I had my irons fitted after a 10 year run with the last ones. Talk about different.

wow. That thing's a classic, you stumbled upon greatness. Hat's off to you sir. :hi: Enjoy it while you can. Noticed your other wedge was a Cleveland 588. I definitely should've stuck with the 588 line instead of the CG15s. The CGs just don't have that feel on quarter swings or longer chips that I had with my old 588 DSGs.

The DSG is underappreciated. You can do a lot with those wedges- and get in a lot of trouble.

speaking of flying it over 280, is it odd that both Tiger and Vijay have fallen off the world since the tour started testing for performance enhancers? Same for Annika?

I think it's pretty obvious that vijay was using something to recover, especially with how much he was playing and his age. It wouldn't surprise me at all if tiger was taking something...he had an ungodly swing speed for quite a while. No idea on Annika.

if Tiger was using, it's amaazing it didn't make Haney's book..

I've thought that before, but I think it's coincidence for all 3. Vijay got old, Tiger broke down and Annika got bored.

so who on here does?

I don't. I can poke one now and then and may get one up to 300 in a round if I catch it and get a good roll, but 280 carry on average is as long as the long pros, is it not?

Carrying the ball 280 is a poke for anybody. That's hitting it on the screws every time with some power. I may carry it 280 on occasion but not on average. My mi****s are usually in play & may wind up 280 but definitely won't carry that.
