heard good things about those never tried one though im trying to decide if i should ditch my white odyssey white hot rossie xg for a newport 2. just wanna know the pros and cons of mallet and blade putters

I love it, haven't ever really used anything else, other than just playing around in a store. Wouldn't be able to tell ya any differences.

I'm still rolling my 9 year old Odyssey 2 ball with a Super Stroke grip. May putt with it til I die.

That's what I have. Odyssey 2-ball DFX with Super Stroke ultra slim. I had a Scotty Cameron years ago but it wasn't for me.

Mine is cut down to 32" and I've got the Fatso grip on it with lead tape at both the heel and toe. Everybody laughs until they try it.

The ultra slim is bigger than standard & I like the reverse taper. Mine is cut to 33.5". It's hard to beat the 2-ball putter.

I put the slim on my Dad's putter and he loves it. The larger grip feels so much better under the right hand and really stabilizes the hands.

I've enjoyed it and have putted well with it. Don't think anything is worth that price though.

That's the problem I have. They roll the ball great, but I've never seen one putter roll it $200 better than another one.

I won a Scotty Cameron in a putting competition and have it to my brother . He loves it.

Ha . . . Same thing happened to me. I won a putting contest at a Member-guest and they gave me a Cameron Putter which seemed so counterintuitive to me that I gave it to my Dad.

I do. The vast majority of shots are allowed putts, 2 for every hole. If you plan on playing a while you're better off getting what you're comfortable with a sticking with it imo.

Only for putters though, technology changes too often on irons and drivers to drop big $$$$, but strangely most hackers spend all their money on those things.

that's a great point. Guys will buy new irons and a driver every two years, and have a crappy putter.

Depends on how long they use it and also how they came about getting the putter. Buying a Cameron just to have a Scotty is useless spending. I prefer the weighting and the roll. Some people who own them no nothing about either and would be better off with a cheap job and some lead tape.

My putter is the most frequently changed club in my bag. I have to get a new look every now and then otherwise I start having alignment issues. But my two favorites are the two-ball and the see-more

like my old instructor, except he cut his down even more.. got me into that.

I played for a long time with a center-shafted never compromise that was 30" and had a little tape on the bottom. That thing was deadly.... I might pull that thing out again soon.
