The Golf Thread

The difference between my 1st round this year to my 3rd round is 19 strokes. Lmao at my suckiness!

(my 3rd round was 19 better)

Anybody been to old fort in Murfreesboro?

If so, how is it? I can't believe of all the months I've been there, I've never shot a round of golf at old fort. Probably gonna bring the clubs out for the first time this year next week.

Old Fort is a pretty good course. The city maintains it well. Flat and long. Champions Run in Rockvale is fairly new and decent.

I've got to figure out my putting. If I could putt I would shoot in the 70s easily, but I 3 and 4 putt almost every green. I drive well, hit my irons well, my short game is decent. Just cant putt.

If you're 3 & 4 putting then its just practice. Probably need to work on speed. Try looking at the hole & putting. If you're missing putts you think you should make do like everybody else & get a new putter.

Speed is more important than line. Get a pre-shot routine and a trigger. Many golfers lean the putter towards the target as a trigger, Phil Mickelson does this.

coldest weather I've played in since leaving Wisconsin 10 years ago...
It was probbaly about 40 overcast with a 20 mile an hour wind...

The sun finally came out on 14....

I think a big part of it is patience. I like to get up there and hit it and it works with the other parts of my game, not so much with putting.

The few PGA events I've been to, I was amazed how fast pros play. They get yardage, and club, and swing. (with a few exceptions). Even at amen corner they play fast, except for that idiot Jose M Olozabal. That's the closest I've ever come to heckling a golfer. But almost all take their time on the greens.

I've gotten to the point where I feel like I'd be wasting my time taking my time on the greens, I feel like I'm going to miss regardless.
