Vijay is a prick. One of my good friends went to school with Trevino's kid and plays golf with him pretty frequently. He's always said he's a nice and funny guy.

That's pretty accurate on Trevino. Also, it's a huge fallacy that Fred Couple is a good guy. He may be liked by the gallery, but in the locker room he's liked by only a few. In fact, I have seen Freddie labeled as a closet dick. Much of that has been confirmed when I've asked a couple of friends who play the tour.

What's funny is that as many people label Tiger as a dick, he's more beloved among the players than Fred Couples or Phil Mickelson

Well.....if you say so. Many great players were natural drawers of the ball but learned to hit a fade BECAUSE you have better control of it when you're in a groove. I don't want to continue to debate this because we are both right and both wrong, depending on who you are talking about. I know that when Tiger misses his fades, it's usually a pull hook. And make no mistake, when Tiger is playing his best, he's hitting more slight fades than slight draws.

A fade holds up in pressure competition better too

I guess we are both right & both wrong. Every golfer is different & the way one guy works the ball is usually different from the next. I will disagree with the last statement. I would say your natural shot is usually the best under pressure & tiger's natural shot is a draw. That said he could hit just about any shot under pressure because that's what he loves.

If you've ever stood on the 18th tee under pressure in competition staring down a chute, you know what 2iron is talking about. Just about everybody thinking through the shot thinks "maybe this would be a good time to hang onto one and hit a high cut just to keep it in the fairway".

Probably true. Cuts just aren't as sexy.

I am a natural drawer of the ball. Played it all through collegiate golf. For several years starting when I was 18, I tried to qualify for the US Amatuer. I always came up just a little short, mainly due to some untimely inaccurate driving on the back nine. It wasn't until I learned to be comfortable hitting a fade off the tee in competition that I qualified. When at the national event, it is imperative you hit some fades on par 4s. Like I said, I am a natural drawer of the ball, but when under pressure, I go to a fade.

I disagree. There's nothing more sexy than hitting a fade that "turns over' to the right and gets out there as far as your playing partner hitting his hard draw. Even more sexy is hitting a high, fading 4 iron 200 yards into a green with the pin tucked on the right. It is much easier to hit a power draw than it is to hit a power fade. That's why I think it is pretty dam sexy hitting a fade

Where did u play? I was competitive as a youth and early in high school, but didn't put in the work to get to the next level. I was better at 13 than I am now and it's not even close.

Cut driver off the deck is my favorite shot and has gotten me out of a lot of trouble too. I can hit it straight off a nice lie, or bend it low and around trees while other guys are just punching shots out.

I wish I had my old ball flight from my early 20's. It appeared to draw until it reached its apex & would fall to the right on the way down. I guess that would be a straight ball.

If I have a decent lie and can get left of a tree, I love to hit a low, nasty bender that ends up 200+ yards and in good position. None of my friends play the shot in that situation, but its as money for me as an iron. Just a quick flick of my wrist at impact while coming thru aggressively bends the heck out of it.
