The Golf Thread

I'm going to the Tuesday practice round at the Masters. I'm staying in Columbia, SC through Wednesday. I'm looking to play two courses during that time frame. Do you guys have any suggestions or recommendations? I'm getting ready to book tee times so any help would be greatly appreciated...

I know of a guy from Winchester who is a really good player and his nickname was Tank (based off his last name). Do you look like Corey Pavin?

No, but I know exactly who you are talking about. He is a good player. I've played with him several times in my lifetime. I actually know him pretty well. Never heard anyone call him Tank. Why is he called Tank?

Just got done playing 9. Bogied or doubled bogied the first 5 and then went in to par the last 4. Go figure...

Excited to get back out and see if what I thought I fixed was actually it

I'm wanting to get my clubs fitted, does anyone here have experience with that? Will a place do it if you already have clubs or do you have to buy them from there? Cost?

Yeah, anywhere like Dick's or Edwin Watts will custom fit your clubs whether you buy them there or not. Dick's use to charge half price on new services for clubs you bought through them and Watts would do it for no charge. I think Dick's charges $4-6 for lengthening/shortening and 7-8 bucks for bending per club.

That's not as bad as I thought

I hope you just need a bend and not a cut. There's always the possibility of needing new grips or paying to have your old grips saved when you have the length changed.
