The Golf Thread

So Stanley is the guy that choked last week? Was he trailing today? I just heard part of the story and am trying to get home. If he were to come from behind and win, he'd become my favorite golfer and I've never seen him play.
If someone feels like it, let me know if that's accurate. No golf watching yet this year for me.

He didn't choke last week he just had a bad break because the ball spun 20 yards off the green into the water.

I didn't know the details. I just heard he was up by 3 or 4 and lost. Even with one water ball, he would maybe double at worse. If he hit 2 waterballs, I'd have to classify that as a choke.

yes, he's in the scoring tent now...
Spencer Levin blew a 6 shot lead,a nd Stanley's going to win it

It was not a choke. Even Faldo admitted that he made 2 bad decisions:1) not blowing his 2nd shot over the green on the last hole in regulation. He would have gotten a free drop from the stands, flipped it on the green, and could have 4 putted for the win., and 2) after hitting 2nd shot in the water, he should have dropped from the spot of last shot. Falso's reasoning was that if a "club" player always hits a "do over" shot better, then a professional would. Dropping in the 1st cut of rough, closer to the hole was not an advantage. I never would have thought of that, but made sense to me.

Unlike Van de Velde, in the 1999 Open Championship, this was not a choke...but a bad couple of decisions. Having said that, I was glad to see him win yesterday. He's got some serious game.

Good win and like the guy but when u can double bogey an easy par 5 and win and you don't there is some choke there.

Was bad luck also. Faldo is full of it because they were all begging him to lay up before the debacle of the third shot.

Not to mention two three puts. Kid choked but bounced back. Kudos to him.

should be an awesome round today between Phil and Tiger...
Wi's alrready given two back with a double bogey on one

Phil's hammering it today...that par save on the last par 3, after tiger holed out from the bunker..was a punch in the gut to tiger

Tiger is all mental right now. Played solid first 3 rounds then just ****s the bed in the final round again.
