He and his ugly swing just keep going and going.

4 wins in his last 15 starts and hardly anybody notices.

i believe it was Faldo who commented that the majors set up well for him this year. i really like his game. i don't knowif he can win a major, but i think he can be a factor.

It's ugly at the top, but he has great tempo and he repeats that thing over and over. He's not playing cuts. He sticks to his strengths and gets it done.

He is freaking long when he wants to hammer it.

this week i'm going with:

Paddy
JB Holmes
Mahan
Brandt Jobe

bench:

Phail
Sabbatini
C. Hoffman
Luke Donald

a friend of mine let me borrow his nike sumo2 5900 for this weekend to see if i like it. anyone currently hitting this or maybe have hit it with any good feedback?

played 9 today
I've got to get to the range, Driver was eratic, irons weak..
The only thing that felt good was full wedge shots

ball comes off very well, but visually, not for me

Went out to the range today and hit some balls for the first time in three months. The first few drivers were pretty rough, but I got it straightened out near the end. Every other club was ugly all day.

Golf is such a cruel mistress...

I played for the first time this year. Hit the driver really well, irons were hit and miss, chipping was awful and putting was pretty good. Did have one 3 jack on the greens, but I also rolled in a 40 ft birdie putt and ended the day with a 40 yd chip in from behind a hill with essentially no green to work with. Put just the right spin on it, the ball landed about 1 ft from the cup and took a left turn right into the hole. Call me crazy or full of it, but I knew the shot was special as soon as it came off the club face.

And now, with that one shot, I can not wait to get back out there.

Finally getting back out on Sunday with a bunch of guys from work. Hope I have time to hit the range before the round.

Anybody hit the new Titleist 909 dries drivers? 909d3 looks sweet.

I tested the 909 D2 with a voodoo shaft at a simulator. Same spring like feel of the 907, felt like it was easier to come through though. That's my biggest problem with my 905T. If you don't get all the way through it, be prepared to start walking towards the right.

How'd you like that Voodoo?

a big part of me believes it's what made the D2 easier to come through. I've got a V2 in my T now and I think it's a large part of the going right problem. I'm never too far right, don't get me wrong, but I'll typically line up left side of the fairway just to play it safe. Don't want to change it because when I'm comfortable with that boy in my hand, I can fade it (naturally), draw it (just a teensie bit) or bomb it down the middle if I'm really feeling it.

I bet a part of it was the new headweighting vs shaft length and flex thing they're doing. Rather than set them up dead closed like they were, they make them neutral setups and use weighting to get the draw for hacks.

I hate all of that garbage.

That Voodoo is supposed to be one heckuva shaft in the right weights. I'm sure the stock is some sort of 60g job that flails around like thread, but the 70g and 75g jobs are supposed to be solid.

I'm not sure what it was, but it was simulated as I said so I went more by my feel than the test results. It takes a real expert to properly set those up and read them.

As far as the shaft weight, I didn't even look, but the stock V2 is 72g if I'm not mistaken, so maybe the voodoo is up there. I'll check the shaft when I get home.
