The Golf Thread

PGA slow play is a whole different animal though. I have a hard time begrudging anybody for slowing down when there's 6 figures on the line.

I understand why, but when they're taking 30 fewer strokes than the average golfer, they should play faster. There are a few of players that hold up everyone else

Course layout has a lot to do with slow play. If you're gonna put a par 5 as the opening hole don't put tee times 8 minutes apart. At least 10. Sometimes you aren't playing particularly slow but feel rushed because the group behind is really fast.

Some people shouldn't be on a golf course

That said, I've always thought that women's tees are typically too long

No his response was that he played behind slow players at private clubs & you said he didn't. Lol. Your Internet ego is something else which explains your user name. Of course you never witness slow play it's just something you heard of since you don't subject yourself to public courses but your an internet expert on it nonetheless. Lol. You're a joke.
Isn't there a rocket scientist thread for you?

Uh, you happened to do it here and then pretended I did.

You do it in every thread you post in. You attacked goofballs for sharing pictures he took playing and tell me I'm wrong on my experience playing at country clubs. Unfortunately, your opinion isn't the only one that matters.

do what? You said it's basically the same everywhere and I said "no, not really." You chose to go elsewhere thereafter and I'm happy to oblige.

My other personal favorite is when the course is backed up and I'm waiting in the fairway to have a go at a Par 5 in 2 and I turn around and theres a guy on the tee looking at me with his hands on hips as if I'm the problem.

Ever been in slow play for most of a round, get to hole 14, hit your one errant tee shot of the day, find the ball within five minutes, hit it and catch back up to the slow play by the end of the next hole only to have the group behind you still blame you for slow play? That pisses me off.

My favorite is waiting for someone to go for the green in 2, when you know from playing behind them for 2 hours they have no chance, an watch them duff it 10 yds in front of them. Followed by the I never do that reaction.

No that's not what I said, but I know you have an agenda so just carry on.

you used an anecdote then said it's just hit or miss. How in the world is that not saying it's the same everywhere? Were you actually saying it's just hit or miss in some statistical way that implied it's different some places than others?

It's hit or miss in that sometimes at clubs you experience slow play and sometimes you don't. Depends on the round. I didn't say club by club.

Really? I had no idea public courses need green fees. Imagine that. I tend to not be an uptight prick, and unless someone is obviously not attempting to play fast I don't feel the need to cry like a baby. You obviously feel its necessary. Private clubs need memberships, so no they aren't going to kick out every slow golfer. Some clubs sure, but not all.

Some do, but many do not need members. In fact, at most exclusive, old school clubs, having the funds to join is generally not the determining factor of whether or not you can join. If you haven't been around the game much, they're not letting you in if you're a billionaire.

Slow play is much more common at public/municipal coures than at a private club and the gap is extremely wide on it too
