The Golf Thread

Some do, but many do not need members. In fact, at most exclusive, old school clubs, having the funds to join is generally not the determining factor of whether or not you can join. If you haven't been around the game much, they're not letting you in if you're a billionaire.

Slow play is much more common at public/municipal coures than at a private club and the gap is extremely wide on it too

I'm not sure it's debatable. There is a marked difference. Not everywhere and for every single round, but on the whole, the difference is very, very evident.

Pinecrest (which sucks), Eagle Pointe and Crescent Pointe in Bluffton right before the bridge and Dolphin Head over on Port Royal. I don't play those much down there though since I'd rather just play the courses in Sea Pines or Palmetto Dunes.

If you ever have the opportunity, get on Long Point. It's the best course on HHI, including Harbour Town.

I like the Fazio course at Palmetto Dunes as well

I played there once about 5 years ago. They had recently aerified their greens, so it wasn't quite the same, but the layout was fantastic. Beautiful course

I realize that and I am aware of the difference. You still experience it though. All I was saying.

Ended up playing Baileyton today because the Crossings was packed (my fault for not calling ahead and getting a tee time). Shot an 84. I'm still trying to break 40 on 9 holes.. was even through 5 today and was 6 over on holes 6-9.. Knew I was playing well and started thinking about my score instead of my shots.

What do you think of Springdale CC, we moved back to Fayetteville instead of Shadow Valley
So I'm considering Springdale CC
We're just off Joyce and Crossover so it's pretty close

It's decent since they put the new 9 in. Ive only played it a couple times and it was respectably maitained If the Blessings is doable, it's the spot. Low membership numbers, so you can play all you want. They've softened it some too, so it's more playable. Just a great, great course. Very tough, but awesome, including the practice facility.

What's the pricing at Springdale?

No Initiation fee an $257 a month with a two year minimum
Then a $150 a quarter food minimum
I know this is trivial but I didn't like the fact they don't have a locker available
Theres over 300 members and about a 100 lockers
So the waiting list is insane
They would really have to soften the blessings up for me
I had a coworker that played it and he's a plus 2 and he shot in the mid 80s
That was about 4 years ago

I think the Blessings is about twice that when I checked earlier. we actually looked at one house in there so I checked about membership
