How often do you hit it into a green?
exactly. A brother hitting into greens with it likes some altitude. If you don't have the pop to climb a 2 iron, the hybrids are the way to go. I even have some of the pop and still choose the hybrid because I still get to go down through it and hit that high ball.

I still hit my 2-iron pretty well, but opted for the hybrid just so I could land it on the green and stop it at the same time. Too often when using my 2 iron, I would pure it yet it would go right through the green. Especially on the more difficult layouts. When I am 220-235 now, I just pull out the 19 degree rescue club.
I still hit a 3 iron
I still hit the 3 iron and use 18 deg hybrid that's about 1/2 inch short of where it started. I use a high flex point, very stiff shaft so I can keep it down if need be, but it naturally pounds it high.
Guy I played with Saturday only carried a 5 wood that was the length of 3 wood. What would be the philosophy behind that. Just adding distance to the 5 wood?
or getting some height to a 3 wood length. Might play the ball deep in his stance or get forward of the ball, so he needs some loft to get it in the air. Many reasons for that club.
Shot a 103 today at Warriors Path. Honestly, it was probably the best I've ever played haha. I'll break 100 sooner or later.
I stayed on the fairway a ton this round and I had a lot of great set up shots. I just choked when I got on/near the green. Three-putted too much.
This is the problem with most amatuers. They tend to club themselves based on their very best shots with that particular club. When you were 220 yards from the hole/green, did you pull out your 3 iron?
