are you thinking we haven't brought in high caliber players so far? not enough? filled the 'wrong' holes?
whatchoo think are the issues?
I used to think Heup's system was extremely challenging on OL. the tempo had to be murder. We only have 7 offensive linemen that see playing time. 3-4 of them arent SEC starting caliber. Teams rotate DLs in and eventually talent wins out....

But he has evolved his philosophy and slowed down considerably since 2021/2022. Yet, OL continues to underperfom.
We need to solve the tale of 2 halves problem. Both sides of the ball seemed to regress in the 2H this season.
It’s a system issue. And I think the main reason is that CJH is too preoccupied with calling plays that he can’t see the little details that make the difference.whatchoo think are the issues?
A lot of what you shared is a common narrative but I don't think there is much validity considering the evolution of Heup's offense over the years. It’s a system issue. And I think the main reason is that CJH is too preoccupied with calling plays that he can’t see the little details that make the difference.
Ex: On offense it hasn’t been complimentary enough to the defense, quick scores put a tired defense back on the field, play calling becomes stagnant due to trying to run plays so quickly, OL gets worn out. Defensively, the DB’s are always going to be hunted cause teams know they have to throw haymakers to keep up the scoring pace, DL knows this so they shoot upfield trying to impact QB and lose gap integrity, LBs become the de facto run stoppers and don’t have the agility to cover.

No doubt the offense has evolved. Less wide choice. More traditional run game. But the premise is still there. Josh is too busy perfecting an offense and is missing the details that will get UT over the hump.A lot of what you shared is a common narrative but I don't think there is much validity considering the evolution of Heup's offense over the years.
How’s that worked out for you on the field???
