The DeSantis containment thread -- all things DeSantis go here

We have serious problems in this state. Infrastructure and roads is a HUGE concern for those of that live here. It took me three hours to drive 70 miles the other day, from Tampa to Orlando.

Crime is a huge problem in some communities. Jacksonville, with a Republican mayor, has a homicide rate twice as high as NYC's.

Homelessness is a huge problem, particularly in Miami.

Instead of addressing that DeSantis is bashing Disney over gay politics, getting into fights with school boards over banning books, and the like. Its all a bunch of nonsense that affects the tiniest portion of the population, but which brings out the right wing loons to his press conferences to cheer him as he harkens back to the 1950s.

Got news for you. Its 2022. The demographics have changed. Technology has changed. Its time we had leadership that gets past the petty cultural crap and makes daily life better for the rest of us.
I'm in St Johns county, I'm good.

He's been dishing out money left and right in 2022 to various county's in various parts of the state to improve infrastructure. It's a simple Google search.

Ron DeSantis awards $64 million for infrastructure projects in Florida

Governor Ron DeSantis Announces Nearly $9 Million for Infrastructure and Economic Development for Gadsden County Communities

Governor DeSantis Awards $11 Million to Support Infrastructure in North Florida Rural Communities

It keeps going. I just selected the first few. But also, what you don't consider is the massive population growth in this state over a VERY short period of time. Desantis can't do anything about that. Not only was that from states like new York and California but Biden also shoved some folks into this state in the middle of the night.

Trust Index: Are migrants flying into Jacksonville in the middle of the night?

Furthermore if all this stuff he is focusing on isn't happening, why are so many people upset about it? The thing is, it's happening in other states. You can't argue that it's not as there are hundreds to thousands of examples that have been added to that total on a daily basis across the country over the last couple of years. It's not just a small population. It's our damn kids.

Another thing about "some communities have high crime" is that the crime in Jacksonville is majorly in poverty areas. Crime and poverty go hand in hand most of of the time. You know what makes poor people poorer? Inflation. Especially hyper inflation whereas last year crime trended downward. 😱

A lot of things make poor people poorer. We can ping pong that one back and forth for eternity.

We can but Jax crime lowered last year. Now it's up. I think I saw Jax is voting on the sheriff this year so hopefully they vote for a guy that can address it. I'm not saying Desantis is perfect. He's not. Florida is in pretty good shape. After living in Atlanta, I have a different view of it lol.

The only way you people can get anyones attention is to be a complete ass cheek. It's your only goal in life. It's how you were raised.

You are under the fascist control of RUSSIANS florida. That should have been evident when all of floridas money was tied up in russian banks.
