The DeSantis containment thread -- all things DeSantis go here

Seems like a win/win for Disney. The county would have to either build new infrastructure or buy Disney's (water plants, fire depts, etc) right? I assume to not have a disruption in service they'd just buy Disney's (estimates are $1-2 billion). Then the county would be on the hook for $100+ mil per year Disney spends to operate these services.

What am I missing? Disney should be pretty pumped, right?
Or the County can start dragging their feet on repaving roads and making improvements. Once the county is in control, there is nothing REQUIRING them to spend at the same rate as Disney. Just because Disney requests something, the county is not obligated to grant it any more than they would be required to put up a red light in my neighborhood if I request one. Disney becomes just another taxpayer competing for limited funds. They will not like it. Disney’s budget does not automatically become the county‘s budget

Their debts do. $60 million a year just to service it.

By State law the bond debts of the special tax district are assumed by the county upon dissolution of the special tax district.
Yeah, UT "grandfathered" a bunch of season ticket holders back in the 80's for their loyalty to the program. Slowly over the years that's gone away.

Libs have no problem "changing" the law to fit their agenda but hate it when it's done to them.

Just tax the hell out of them to make up the difference.

So the right says that a functioning private entity that runs its own finances and delivers its own services should instead put that burden on local taxpayers so that some knucklehead can do some social warrior crap

Ok

It’s interesting that some people suddenly care about state constitutions but we’re unconcerned when several states completely **** on theirs before the last presidential election.

The constitution only seems important when your Team needs it……apparently
