Suggesting that these candidates would have listened does not mean that they were all in line to be the DC. Bennett listened and turned it down. Hubbs mentioned that he heard these names earlier in the week, therefore he took an easy way out. He says "Dooley chose not to pursue them"....This to me means that "I kinda heard this name but could not find anything else to back it up." He tries to create closure with these candidates so that no one loads him up with questions about them. I would not believe that these guys were realistic for a second.

This, there was no way in hell that Bumpas was going to leave TCU. And why waste your time with Narduzzi if you believe he is just using it to get a pay raise from MSU

Didn't Dooley try to get Bumpass before he hired Wilcox? Maybe that is why he decided not to go down that road again.

Maybe Hart played into this decision more than people think.

My thoughts as well. I thought it was shared earlier that CDD did talk with Bumpas and Narduzzi at the coaches convention. Sounded like a concern with the latter was that he may be using this as leverage for an additional raise. I believe Bumpas received a raise in 2010 when CDD pursued him.

Either way, those preliminary talks in San Antonio may have been all CDD needed to realize they needed to go in a different direction.

I'm not all that happy about Sunseri. He was a sub-position coach. LT came from the same position, under the same coach to work here, and had Monte Kiffin take him under his wing, to go along with his previous stint as DC at UCF. He even stated that working with MK was the main reason he decided to make the lateral move.

SS just doesn't make a ton of sense, NC nothwithstanding. I think hiring either him or Green sends LT packing, and we are left non the richer for it.

If it is SS,,guess you will just have to remain unhappy.
If CLT was not offered the job then both CDD and AD Hart have their reasons. AD Hart knows CSS - and if he feels that he's the best fit for UT, then so be it.

It wouldnt matter If Sal and Lance hugged at the presser. Some jackass on VN would still say Dooley made them do it and they hate each other...

how about maybe because our football program is drowning and we need a fresh name to give some kind of a spark. maybe SS is the biggest name that would take the job. also, how do you know LT will leave?

Waking up this morning it does worry me some that nothing (outside of here) has leaked that this is really true. I trust skeeter but stuff changes.

He'll name someone at that press conference today. It's going to be Sunseri. I have no thoughts on the hire one way or the other.
