My thought with your posts

U went from a guy carrying a gun which is not uncommon that's never committed a violent crime and compared him to a possible mass murderer.....I just proved that things have happened under Zo as well and it's the individuals fault unless u think Zo could have stopped yemi from holding the girl down

I missed where it's been said otherwise?

We had a damn second coming of Aaron Hernandez on our team, but it's ok Saint Pearl had it under control.

You know exactly why Yemi is not here. I'm not blaming Cuonzo for anything, but this did happen under his watch.

Ramar Smith was teetering on Hernandez territory, he was a good character evaluation huh?

If you didn't catch the sarcasm then check your meter bro.

I'll make this simple for you, how many players has Martin had arrested, how many has Pearl had arrested.

6 years > 2 years. Give it time. Besides, I'll take my chances with some thugs if it means getting to the tourney every year.

That's completely fine and was in no way what the original discussion was....it was simply that coaches are responsible and deserve some of the blame.

That's pretty pathetic. "I don't care if the players have a high risk of being arrested, potentially harm others, or ruin their lives as long as we win basketball games." Good thing you're not coaching these young men.

The 98 championship team had plenty of thugs. Fulmer was able to minimize the thuggery enough to win a national championship. Win at all cost, and worry about the off field stuff when and if it happens.

Provide links for the stuff they did in school. And regardless, that's a terrible perspective. I can only imagine what type of parent you are.

Well its been pointed out that we have had three transgressions at least that we know about in 2 yrs of martin.... We are going to be recruiting guys from lower socio-economical background so they are going to have a higher chance of getting in trouble. They have to follow the rules and once they break them they are no longer part of the team just like all the guys with Pearl and the guys under Martin. We are not recruiting for a church choir group. If we followed your strict rules of who we should recruit then we never would have had Bernard King as a former Vol!

To be honest most of the thuggery didn't come out until they played in the NFL.

Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry , Leonard little, Dwayne Goodrich, Cedric Wilson come to mind . I'm sure I'm leaving out some. As far as I know they didn't do anything while playing for UT. Their true colors didn't come out to later

They were talented and won a championship, so I can overlook their issues. Except for Goodrich and especially Little. Their carelessness resulted in innocent people dying.

You can teach these kids. That's a stereotypical view. Just because the kid comes from that lifestyle doesn't mean his life is going to turn out that way with proper guidance from his coach and other mentors. That's the point. You're giving up on these kids being good people just because of their backgrounds.

And King should have been arrested and kicked off the team.

Exactly. Those guys were guided while in school. Not Fulmer's fault they ran with the wrong crowd after they left.

Im not giving up on them, I said u try to work with them to be good people. My parents were strict on me but I still did things that I would not want them to find out about today. It happens with every coach including Martin. No matter how good of a mentor u r, some kids will make the wrong choices.

There is a fulmer cup based off how many tennessee players got in trouble while here. Where was his guidance during those days?

So just because we are recruiting for basketball, it is ok to accept breaking laws and all? Teaching these kids are above the law just because they play basketball and win. Smart.

Did u miss the part where they were kicked off when they broke the rules?

Did you miss the part where you can recruit character, not just talent, so you can avoid this type of thing to begin with? No, you and 30 want to take the risk just because you may win a few more games.

You are speaking out of both sides of your mouth, you just said that u can take the more challenging kids and mentor them. Which is it?
