UT basketball doesn't have much self-respect right now anyway.

Take the gamble and hire him.

Hiring a new coach is a gamble itself. How many coaches fail? A ton. How many great coaches are out there? Not many...and the few that exist are locked up at their respective schools. I'm not saying Pearl is on the level of Self, Izzo, or Donovan, but he's pretty damn close.

There's a pretty good chance Hart whiffs on the next hire, and then we're having this conversation again in 2016, except Pearl is off the board.

I have season tix and will not be purchasing them again next season, unless Bruce Pearl is our coach. With That garbage I witnessed tonight , UT should be paying me to come to the games. I've seen more energy at a funeral than what our team had in the first half.

You lost me at Cuonzo is a great coach. Tennessee and overall record does not reflect this.

Heck, if we're going to fire Cuonzo (as everyone seems to think), why wouldn't you hire Pearl? Who are you going to get that is better?

One of the top coaching candidates in college basketball lives in freaking town and we're not going to consider him? That would be idiotic.

For the love of all things Holy. Bring Back Bruce. This has been the worst era of tennessee athletics I can ever remember. At leat when the football team was under achieving we got to look forward to basketball season. But now were after year three of C it's to much for me to take. Guess now all I got to look forward too is football signing day and the spring game.

May have been WAY off on Cuonzo as a coach. Started this thread when he had the Stokes/Maymon 1-2 punch performing well. We have gone way downhill since then. We need the fire. We need the Bruce!

WHY WOULD WE NOT REHIRE BRUCE?

Too bad Pearl/Tennessee weren't just banned from the tournament for 3 years instead of Pearl not being allowed to coach at all. We're going to miss the tournament 3 years in a row anyways but at least we would have still had Pearl. Not to mention, at least we'd be winning games and the games would be exciting. It's pretty hard watching this team lose on top of playing boring basketball.
