Would you be for Bruce Pearl's return if Martin is fired after next year?

Still to be determined if Cuonzo will be our coach in three years. One thing I am about 99 percent certain of is that Pearl will never coach at Tennessee again. He definitely will coach somewhere IMO but not Tennessee. The AD office will not go there.

If he does get another job it will never be at a program comparable to or better than UT. No one of that caliber is going to take a risk on someone with Pearl's baggage who hasn't been to a Final Four.

Pearl emboidies all that is bad with college athletics today. A liar, a cheat, and a scumbag. He did himself in and thought he could get away with it. He will never darken UT's basketball games again as our coach. And he shouldn't.

yes win/loss counts but against the better comp we are getting Losses....not wins....I know he took Missou State to the tourney and I dont see how he cant at least get us there....but just getting there is not good enough....I want to win games once we get there...why is the Elite 8 such a huge standard?

There are a handful of posters that run in a pack flaming off with personal attacks. They don't like anyone questioning Martin and take it quite personally when anyone points out the crappy product on the court.

Just ignore the flaming trollers like everyone else does and post your opinion often. There is nothing wrong with having different opinions on VN.

Looks like we might as well just fire Martin so he can be sacrificed to the village idiots on here. You all need to get off Pearl's ****, he messed up and it's coming back. Support your winning team, you know the one that has only lost 3 games and had two last second shots to beat Georgetown but couldn't convert and that was only not in one game all year.

There are plenty smaller schools that a lee mid majors that are a better job than UT. The only splash for UT bball was made by Bruce. This was because he splashed on the scene and won right away. What has Cuonzo done? UT basketball is not a top 35 job.

Well, he cheated.

If he were truly a great coach, he wouldn't have had to have the BBQ, or he could have kept it under wraps, or he could have admitted to his CHEATING during the investigation. Instead, he did what a mediocre coach would do: lie.

That too, plus the contact with with the recruits days before he was canned. Seemed like he went out of his way to get in trouble.

He was a great coach that had an extremely bad day and did probably the stupidiest most preventable event in college basketball history. But during his time he was a great coach.

I think the line between Pearl and Williams, Coach K, Self, etc. is relatively thick.

And yet he had TENNESSEE in the Elite 8 and actually ranked NO 1...both accomplishments were the FIRST in the History of Tn BBALL.....

If you think that Self and Williams haven't done something on the down low then I have ocean front property in Montana for sell......

No more so than the NCAA found that Calipari was involved in Derrick Rose cheating on his SAT. But we all know the truth in both cases, and we know the NCAA treated each very differently. Wonder why?
