The Attendance

Weather today in Alabama...Tornadoe warnings and severe thunderstorms all day. I'll gurantee Bryant Denny is packed or at least has a respectable showing. I'm embarrased at the showing today. I love the Volnation and not being negative in any way, but we have now took a back seat to Georgia,Florida, Bama,LSU,Arkansas,Auburn,S.Carolina in the spring game support. For those of you who don't think this is important... I was on the lower level today of section T and noticed several high profile recruits visiting. If you don't think this is an impact when these players visit other schools next week, u better think again.

I think that was yesterdays weather. I seen some of Alabama's spring game on TV and it looked sunny and warm. Much better weather than Tennessee's.

We didn't dress warm enough today. I didn't realize it was gonna feel like a late November game. I couldn't feel my hands by the time we left. The wind was beyond cold.

And I don't give a damn how many fans the bammers had at their game. I don't go to Neyland to out-do bama. I go cause I love Neyland and Tennessee football.

Dude...get your weather report correct! It was sunny and 63 degrees in tuscaloosa today. Quit trying to start crap! Sure Bryant Denny was packed. Their football team is not in the dumps. It's not Dooley's fault!

Left at half here myself too....That friggin wind was brutal.

Ditto. Was afraid if I didn't leave I was gonna freeze something off I really dont want to lose.Would've been different if we had known there was gonna wind straight off a artic circle iceberg...Maybe if I had another one of those killer long islands from Calhouns.

The weather sucked and the wind was cutting. It was blowing so hard me and my friends hats blew off tumbling down Cumberland ave. We had to chase after them.

I went to the game today (my first spring game, but my third vol game overall) and i didn't have trouble with the weather. the wind never got to me (i guess since i have been to the smokeys during the weather plus i like cold weather. i will continue to go to spring games, plus the regular season games. i will always support the vols no matter what the weather is.

i also went to fan day at haslam field. the only trouble i had was that on utsports.com it had worded that you could only get one thing signed but once i got there i found out that you could get multiple autographs but you only have one item signed per face. i got coach dooleys autograph (plus a pic) and i also got marques pair and kevin revis's autographs.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEPTEMBER. GO VOLS.

I heard that! Forgive them, they've been ESPN'd for years, and (maybe) majored in business. :loco:

All is lost...only 15,000 people showed up for a 40 minute game in 40 MPH wind and cold

Its sad Alabama can have 90,000 every year for their spring game. We should show some support for our guys no matter what the weather is. Dont think recruits dont see the support the fans show in Bama.

Wasn't announced attendance last year like 30ish as well? So this year was almost as much, despite awful weather.

In 2002, coming off a Top 5 finish with a team projected to be in the preseason top 5, we drew less than 14k on a beautiful day. It doesn't matter. It's a spring game.

We left at the end of the third quarter. Had it been a regular season game, we would have toughed it out, because I'm one of those who will never leave a game early even if we're getting blown out. No need to stay today.

Only in Alabama do 90k people go watch a bunch of 19 yr olds practice. Really pretty dam silly.

Much to my wife's annoyance, I'm the kind of guy who insists on staying to the bitter end of any sporting event even in the cold and rain. But I wouldn't spend five minutes sitting in uncomfortable weather to watch a team practice. If I'd been in Knoxville today, I would have skipped it. I can't believe people are actually wringing their hands about attendance at a practice.
