This is when I think country music really started to get good (late 60's). This one came a couple of years before that one, but it's basically the same formula. Great song.
I'm in the camp of "enjoy and appreciate the classics" while it's still OK to "kick back, have a beer, and redneck it out with what the kids like." I didn't like MW when I first heard him, but with the windows down, on the lake, or with some corn hole boards, TN can grow on you.Morgan Wallen being so polarizing is simply a case of new school vs old school. People that grew up on old country think he's trash because he's a different type of country. Just like people like me who grew up Eminem, Lil Wayne, 36 Mafia, T.I, 50, etc think all modern rap/hip hop is complete trash. Personally I think MW has a few bangers but for the most part not my cup of tea. Which is exactly how I feel about most modern rap. Morgan Wallen isn't that bad, we're just getting old.
This shouldn't be as hard to understand as some make it out to be.I'm in the camp of "enjoy and appreciate the classics" while it's still OK to "kick back, have a beer, and redneck it out with what the kids like." This is because in the 1990s thru 2000s, mediocre programs could only get their fans to get into the game with overrated songs and claim it's a "tradition"Nothing feels quite as fake, lame, and inauthentic as mandated "fan spirit." It always - always - feels kind of dopey. And yes, that includes trying to force gimmicky things like "fourth quarter songs." Or third quarter songs. Any quarter songs. Always gotta be coming up with more stuff to add to the marketing packet I guess.
