Texas is in, right?

I certainly hope not. That definitely don't deserve to. The loss to UF was embarrassing considering how bad UF is. They were also lucky to beat UK and got absolutely spanked by UGA. They are not one of the best 12 teams in the country.

Nobody cares, but that was the truth. 4 teams was the correct number.

Honestly, even with the current mess-4 was just not enough.

The problem is that as soon as the playoffs started-the bowls became an afterthought.

If you were going to do the playoffs, they should have started bigger from the beginning

Figure out the number of bowls which were actually viable and not just propped up by advertising dollars. Bahamas Bowl, Poulian Weed eater Bowl, etc, etc etc see ya

Take those top 20 or whatever bowls and figure out what kind of tournament you can have and then the championship game and maybe the semifinals on its own

You increase fan interest in those bowls. Games that usually draw 7k people would be jam packed. Immense impact to the local economies, etc

Seriously? Last year NIU team would be a 10pt dog to this year’s UF team on a neutral field
Yes, seriously. This year's UF team lost to USF team at home, early in the season before all their injuries.

At some point, with the addition of Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Missouri... the SEC and the SEC fanbase can legitimately stop giving a rip about the rest of the NCAA.

I mean - with so many resource rich schools - schools where the "local" recruiting zones for member schools span 18 of the 48 contiguous states, you face title contending opponents multiple times a season. Running a schedule in a way that puts you in the playoff bracket is... unlikely for any and all member schools.

Can we just have a playoff for the SEC and forget that everyone else exists?
No.

Let’s see how today plays out. If Michigan beats OSU then they clearly get in before Texas. And there are other 10-2 teams that didn’t lose to a 3-8 Team….

That Florida los was a bad loss despite the spin the announcers and Texas fans want to give it…

The only thing the Texas win did was drop Tennessee out of the Citrus Bowl (provided we beat Vandy). We would have been the highest ranked SEC team not in the CFP. Now, Texas will be ahead of us (and no, I don't think Texas will be in the playoffs).

If UF beats FSU today, which loss was then worse? Tx’s or Bama’s?

Sark nailed it last night in the postgame interview. Tx is a 10-2 team with 3 wins over the top 25 if they don’t go play at the house of the natty holder but scheduled UTEP at home instead. Isn’t that what we all want to see? Good matchups. Likely everyone in the country has plus 1 loss if they scheduled OSU.

We win today and we’re 9-3…Why would a 9-3 Texas get in over a 9-3 Tennessee? They have an overtime loss to UGA and a loss to 8 Oklahoma and 10 Bama. They’re just as deserving as Texas to getting in.

Texas needs at least five games to go their way tomorrow to have any chance of getting in.
Obviously this is facetious in terms of the OP thinking they’re in, but the point stands. This is still a beauty contest voted on by bias judges. For the life of me, I still don’t understand how anyone had an issue with a computer “picking” the two best teams. WTF do we need the eye test and have said test administered by 60 year old, unathletic dweebs with pockets to line? I don’t think A.I. gives two ***** if TX is in at 9-3 and IU is left at home at 12-0. At the end of the “analysis” A.I. could ask Cignetti, would you like me to model how you could make the playoffs moving forward?

Because they beat OU, Vandy, AM and lost by a TD to OSU on the road. Surely you can see our 9-3 and theirs aren’t the same?

Neither is getting in, but Texas will finish ahead of Tennessee. Texas has multiple wins over ranked teams. If Tennessee beats Vandy, that'll be their only win over a decent team. Their second best win would be 5-7 MSU. If your entire argument is "look at the good teams that beat us," you have no argument.

But they did and they lost. We'd be 11-0 now if we didn't make a few mistakes in 3 games. And we didn't lose to Florida, so there's that.

First Tennessee, now Texas. SMDH. Some folks are just incapable of seeing reality.

Did you not watch how the media was all over this last night? Did you not hear the Texas's coaches' comments? They all proclaimed that Texas should be in. Rationale was that they should not be penalized for losing to Ohio State.

We want to see you win the good match up. Not lose it and beg for a spot in the playoff when your ass had a chance but lost the games that would have put you there. Cry me a river.

When I watch college football, it's either the SkyCast (only stadium audio), or with the volume muted and no closed captions. Most TV announcers...across all brands...just annoy me with their act. Some are nauseating.

Texas does not belong in the CFP. Nor does Tennessee.

EDIT: This is Reason #1 why the human element should be removed from deciding the CFP teams. Tweak the BCS formula, and let it decide. Then again, some folks would argue with the Coke machine about which was better: Coke Zero or Diet Coke.

Texas rolled the dice for the glory by playing OSU. They lost and benefited by remaining high in the polls as a result until they lost to an unranked 1-3 Florida team while other teams were winning.

That loss to Florida, coupled with just barely beating Kentucky and losing to Georgia by 25 points is why they are where they are at in the rankings.

Sark just needs to let it go. They are not better than any of the teams in the top 10. Yes they could make the argument against A&M, but that is it.

And honestly if Michigan beats OSU today, then the argument for Michigan will start and Texas will be long forgotten in the aftermath as the argument for Notre Dame and Bama (assuming they beat Auburn) is going to kick in.

Texas 15 minutes of "getting to complain" will probably end later today.
