Expectations for freshman should be limited. Pickens had her moments and then looked like a deer in headlights. It’s an adjustment to go from #1 against lesser talent in HS to freshman year facing women who aren’t fooled by what got you there. Freshman year is lifting, practice, game reps, bullpens and learning opportunities in games.

Having watched them several games this season, I would have thought they were higher but then what do I know. I won't cheapen a bad day on the mound on the last day of the regular season. It is what it is.

.....so far. I'm rooting for an epic comeback like we had against Florida a couple seasons ago.

I think we’ve just played our way out of hosting supers. But frankly, I don’t think this team makes it through a regional anyway. The offense is broken and so is the pitching outside of KP.

They have not been given the opportunity to pitch much this year. They will give up some runs and we can’t hit good enough to score runs for them to get them in a game so when we get down a run or two Weekly pulls them out instead of giving them a chance to work through and get better.

I have said this all season, "You can't win a title with one decent pitcher." That's all we have. I don't understand why Weekly can't come up with at least two. Did she really believe the sea of freshmen would get us through? Apparently so because she made no effort to sign another one in the off-season. Florida & OU would tear us up in the tourney the way they are playing. Between those 2 teams & TX. I don't believe we stand a chance.

#6 RPI - top 4 SEC finish. Take a walk man. A loss in first SEC game probably wouldn't even move us out of top 8.

Funny thing is if you watched the season we beat OU and Texas on the road. Florida we did not play. Only thing I fear is the team with a good lefty.

We had 2 dominant pitchers last year and did not get out of the super regional. I do agree you need 2 dominant pitchers but you still have to be able to hit and score runs to win the game. Case in point Thursday night game. Got beat 1 to 0. KP pitched a hell of a game and we could not score 1 run for her. It's been the problem since I have been watching Lady Vols softball.
