I’m good the way I stated it. Maybe want to review my postings on her since Hs before proceeding. Are we at imminent risk of losing her?
Again, odd way to phrase the point you're trying to make. "KP elevates the team and makes us a threat at the upper echelon of the sport" is a lot different than saying something like "We'd be in trouble without her."
Okay, so to be clear, you'd rather say it in a way that sounds unnecessarily negative? I mean, she's on the team and she's not pitching for anybody else, so going the "lord help us if we didn't have her" route is ... a choice.I’m good the way I stated it. I said what I said. Without her we are middle of the SEC. You take that how you want, it’s a great thing we have her. It’s not that hard to understand.Okay, so to be clear, you'd rather say it in a way that sounds unnecessarily negative? Our hitting coach needs to teach her how to swing all the way through and make contact to the right side. If she had hit any of the pitches to right field against the Texas defense it probably would've been an inside the park home run. Right field was that empty. If all she's going to do is slap at the ball, she's going to see more shifts like the Texas one. IMO, that'll make her bat useless.Morgan didn't do well against that slapper D Tx used against her. IMO needs to be able to do other things when they take away the left side from her.
Adjustments required! We’ll see. If addressed, it would generate a huge amount of confidence in the staff, for me anyway. Our hitting coach needs to teach her how to swing all the way through and make contact to the right side. I know that Morgan's batting average is currently good, but I expect it to continue to fall during the coming weeks. Don't think that the other teams we are going to play weren't watching the shift that Texas pulled on Morgan. They are likely to do the same. Her effectiveness as a hitter is gone. We need a straight-away hitter like Alannah that the defense can't cheat on. We've seen what Gabby Leach can do with the bat. Alannah is her identical twin and should have similar abilities. Put her in there. The day of the slapper is past and it's time Coach Weekly realized that. Here batting average is very good.
I had suggested in a earlier post about that shift and agree she will see that a lot more going forward. Was wondering if Morgan could start going to the right side more with bunts etc but not that familiar with the mechanics of the slappers. Seems Morgan, being a lefty always goes to same side of the infield which the reason TX used the shift knowing that. Can a slapper go to the other side?I know that Morgan's batting average is currently good, but I expect it to continue to fall during the coming weeks. Has any softball or baseball team ever won two 3-game series against two #1 ranked teams? Probably not. Certainly not in consecutive weeks. Great accomplishment!Didn’t realize that neither Texas nor Oklahoma had lost a game at home before playing the Lady Vols. They also now have 8 combined losses, half of which are to Tennessee.![]()
