Tennessee DL Darel Middleton was arrested this morning on two charges.

Well it's good you are not Coach Pruitt. Middleton is 23, as far as I understand he can drink if he wants to. Do you drink? Should he be publically intoxicated? No. He is in college though.

As far as simple assault, all we know is he pushes his girlfriend....whoopity do. He did get into a fight with a guy ...probably a friend she hangs around.

I agree with the earlier idea about O&W suspension, running, anger management and community service. Heck I'm angry some of you go off the deep end without enough facts.
Well it’s good that you have great reading comprehension skills. No I currently don’t drink. I haven’t had a drink in a long time because I have better things to do than to waste my money on alcohol. I work and go to school full-time so I really don’t have time for all that. Me drinking or not drinking has nothing to do with whether I can get over someone publicly getting drunk versus someone physically assaulting someone. Maybe you haven’t seen me write IF HE DID THIS in multiple posts. Idk about you but I don’t consider shoving someone assault. If all he did was shove someone then that charge should be thrown out and he should just be suspended for the public intoxication. If he got physically violent with a female then he needs to be kicked off, no questions asked. Seems like common sense to me. I never claimed to know the facts. I’m just stating what I would do if he actually assaulted a female. Maybe try reading next time instead of going on attack mode.

Everybody needs to chill. It could be anything from a “Ray Rice” situation to him simply pushing her out of his face. Let’s hear the full story before the “jury” decides anything.

In Tennessee, domestic assault is basically a category of assault that has a specific type of victim. It's a domestic assault when it's committed against someone who is a:

  • Current or former spouse;
  • Cohabitant;
  • Dating or sexual partner;
  • Blood or adoptive relative;
  • Current or former relative by marriage; or
  • Adult or minor child of any of the above individuals.
Abusers can also be charged with any other crimes they commit against the same current or former partner and family member victim(s), including rape, child abuse, child neglect, child endangerment, or false imprisonment.

It’s a pretty broad charge. Buddy was charged with domestic assault for fighting with his father in law. Complete BS.

Kid isn't guilty of anything until he either admits it or is convicted. This could be real bad or a lot of screaming and yelling that will get pled down. Bad look either way but let's not go on suicide watch until facts come out.

If "if" was a fifth then you'd be drunk by now. Maybe you should read the story and not interject additional qualifiers.

I’ve tried to care less but I can’t. Fulmer and Pruitt will sort it out, we’ll play football with or without him. Whatever else he does with his life is 100% up to him.

I'm not defending Ray but pointing out something often ignored when such incidents occur. The elevator video shows that Ray's wife laid into him first but no attention is paid to her assault on him. The double standard reality should be enough for men to understand run, climb, or even fly away when attacked and press charges later. In his case, he was trapped so maybe curling into a fetal position to protect his head and other vital parts was the only option unless she was armed. Armed changes the whole dynamics, foremost b very aware of the double standard.

Who said anything about chances with no consequences? Some however seem to think anything less than kicking a kid off the team equates to "no consequences". I don't think it is being too lenient to prescribe a lesser punishment with counseling unless a kid is a repeat offender.

Lol. And the rampant problem continues. No thanks. And how many chances did this guy have from 9th grade on? Stop acting like you gaf about him and be honest enough to say that he is a pivotal part to this team so let's have him lay on the couch and talk to someone about his problems and get him ready for spring practice.

And being kicked off a team ensures another chance for them somewhere else. Are you saying this could would not get a chance anywhere else? Please

My point was its a private matter, not a front page story. I would rather hear about these issues 4 weeks down the road in a coaches press release than from a news story By some reporter with a police scanner.

And if this guy were buried on the depth chart there's a very good chance he is removed from the team.

LMAO now I have heard it all. Ray Rice's wife had it coming.

Only a fifth? That’s for lightweights lol. Have you not stopped for a moment to “breathe” and think maybe there’s more to the story? I’m not going to give a definitive opinion without knowing what the ruling is from the legal process. Innocent until proven guilty. What if he had “allegedly” murdered someone? I’m not going to say he actually did it. I’m going to give my opinion on what I would if he actually did it and qualify it with the word “if”.

Do you actually know what happened last night?

He was publicly intoxicated at 2am in the middle of a fight and shoved his girlfriend to the ground twice. My hope is that there isn't video of the incident. But even if not I can say let the kid go to one of our biggest rivals and wish him luck.
