Tee Martin

It looks like Tee has gotten both Peerless Price and Albert Haynesworth fired up about him not getting the HC job. They've both posted today about it. I'd guess he's texting all his buddies about what a miscarriage of justice it is that he didn't get the job even though he's shown nothing to show he actually deserves it.
Link for Tee being responsible or GTFO
"It looks like" is in eye of beholder. ;)

I'm out this pitiful hate fest. smdh

Unfortunately, Tee came back resting on his laurels as the former quarterback and winning the National Championship while expecting a cushy job. Pruitt did very little to get Tee to do much because Fulmer requested that Tee be hired in the first place. There is a lot that went on within the program that caused division among the coaches and ultimately spread to the players. If the truth ever comes out which is doubtful, Fulmer did a lot of things in the background to "influence" the program. I think Pruitt is relieved to get away from Fulmer. It was time for Pruitt to be replaced, but let's not forget the forces at play with Fulmer as AD. I stated in another post that the day Fulmer had his hand in the removal of Johnny Majors, Fulmer could never be trusted. Why he was brought back as AD is very puzzling especially when he had his hand in replacing Majors as coach. I wanted to believe Fulmer had changed his ways and would be an asset, but he ended up being the virus that brought the program down farther. It will never be known had Fulmer kept his hands off and nose out of Pruitt's business, how it could have made a difference. Part of Fulmer's decision to retire is because some of the boosters and administration got wind of Fulmer's involvement in the football program, plus the decision to hire Pruitt. Fulmer has pretty much sealed what is left of his legacy from all that has happened. Let's hope with a new AD that the next coach won't have to deal with a voice telling him what to do and how to run his program.
Majors caused his onw dismissal. It is well documented if you want to look it up

Per Hyams Steele was hired because none of the staff could become acting HC due to the NCAA investigation. The law firm told them to bring in someone from the outside. Way overpaid for it but it's just another cost of the Fulmer coup.

Yes. Thank you.

None of the lazy articles in the press mention this angle, and they’re all showing their arses.

Convenient revision

57% Completion, >2000 yds passing, 19 TD 6 INT, 7 TDS rushing, Qtb Rating 144

GTFO, lol. How many times you hear "QB so and so has won X number of championships"? That don't say that about running backs or Defense, very often, and it's not the case here.

Don't think, for a minute, Tee is qualified for the situation but he sure gets a lot of grief for not very much around here, it seems.

At least he didn't endorse Schiano.
I like Tee, he was a great competitor and a part of our national championship team. But I have been watching the Vols since I was 7 and in all my 49 years watching the Vols I know how the team won that 98 championship. Tee is for sure a part of it, but our defense and running game was our primer for us winning it all. We ran the ball well and Tee was just fast enough to keep the defense honest and could hit the long ball a decent amount of the time. He could make the passes but he wasn't the most accurate at times. But our defense was opportunistic and our running game was very good. What I am getting at is we were a solid offense with a very good to great defense week in a week out. We were solid and at least good at about every position. It wasn't close to be all Tee. GBO!!!!

I remember how angry I was when Tee turned us down when the Jones administration pursued him. For several days I hit F5 continuously hoping to read “Tee is coming HOME” only to find out that he said No, he’s going back to USC. I was angry. Beyond pissed that this UT Natty Winning QB refused to return to his Alma Matter and help lead us back to the glory land. Finally, I realized that Tee had to make a decision that’s best for him. Having my owns kids helped me realize that sometimes the most unpopular decision is the best decision for the person, like it or not. I also realized that the door swings both ways. Much of the time the popular decision is to give in to nostalgia and have a soft spot for past heroes or relationships and after the fact, it’s never the smartest in hindsight. I can argue it both ways.
All I’m trying to say is what’s best for UT may not be holding on to Tee much akin to Tee coming back to UT prior .... was not the best thing for him. I think the Peerless Price and Haynesworth comments are polarizing in a situation that’s already extremely volatile. If they really loved UT, and believes that Tee was being treated unfairly due to race, a call to the President or Chancellor would have served both Tee and the University better.

Steele was hired before Pruitt was fired so that line of crap doesn’t fly. Hyams is running smoke for Donde and Boyd.

Steele wasn't hired before the NCAA investigation started, nor before the law firm was brought into the picture. He was hired on their recommendation. Pruitt's official firing was written in the cards before it actually happened. The only question was how long it was going to take to determine cause.

Let's see. If I was given the option to come back to Knoxville or remain in California, what would I do? Hmm

Different strokes for different folks. Some people prefer TN and some people prefer Cali, and there's nothing wrong with that. Also, Tee grew up in Mobile, AL. For all we know he'd rather be somewhere in the South but closer to the beach -- and if that's true I couldn't blame him.

idk. More Californian refugees by the day coming to places like TN, TX and FL. Nothing to do with football of course, but still. Why would you stay in Cali?

Two sides to this.
If you own property you can help people stay in Cali.

Some people that want to be homeowner's but started to late with not enough income are moving away. And unfortunately driving up the market wherever they go. Then you got people that have property here and use that as a domino of creating income through renting and acquiring more property and building.

There's no better state than California. And I love Tennessee. Especially East Tennessee.
But out here we have Yosemite, Big Sur Coast, beautiful beaches and desert mountains scapes. And a variety of cultures that accommodate the whole spectrum. Not just liberals out here. Cheap flights to Asia and the Pacific.

Fulmer was a big part in replacing Majors. Ask him, he might tell you the truth.
Falsely believe whatever you want. Johnny was his own worst enemy. He tried to come back before he was suppose to per his Dr.'s and showed up at a gathering (that he may not have even been invited to) and made demands he was in no condition (double entree there ) to make, especially given the trajectory of the team and given some other self inflicted wounds he had did to himself. The entire story is out there if you want to find out some actual facts. But that is on you to do.

It is a matter of which sources you want to believe. It's not on me to find out. I'm not here to waste my time debating with you, but if you want to believe in what you want that is perfectly alright with me. Reading stories and knowing actual people involved are two different sources. Good luck.

this is a message board, behind the keyboard, mitch move. its weak af. weak things like this come from weak people. it is what it is

Hey Race Baiter.....this is a high paying position. It’s a surgeon’s salary. It is based on job performance not being from here. If you want a coaching staff that has no chemistry...look back at 3yrs of Pruitt or Butch’s final season. This has not a damn thing to do with winning a National Championship or his skin color.

The one solid proven thing Heupel has delivered on since he’s been coaching is high powered offenses. He knows his guys and knows who will meet his needs. I want to win. If keeping any Coach that’s here is going to interfere with that process then thanks and best of luck.

BTW...I seem to remember Tee Martin digging our job offer before because he was to good to be here instead of fancy LA and USC. He only came here because he was FIRED for under performing. Maybe you should contact the Athletic Department at USC. Ask them if they fired him because of his skin color....calling is racists for nothing.
the joke himself....you...who couldn't comprehend what i wrote if u wrote it yourself.

no point in responding because nothing i said was against heupel in any form or fashion, but intelligence apparently didnt make it to your part of the woods

Sweet dreams. Have a nice life.
