Tee Martin

Convenient revision

57% Completion, >2000 yds passing, 19 TD 6 INT, 7 TDS rushing, Qtb Rating 144

GTFO, lol. How many times you hear "QB so and so has won X number of championships"? That don't say that about running backs or Defense, very often, and it's not the case here.

Don't think, for a minute, Tee is qualified for the situation but he sure gets a lot of grief for not very much around here, it seems.

At least he didn't endorse Schiano.
He brings on the grief himself always whining about why people don’t love him more and playing the race card.

What are you trying to say? That Tee was a good QB? Or that the 98 title wasn’t more to do with running game and defense?

The hate for Tee Martin is unbelievable! WOW!

Man wins the only National Title in the last 50 years......yet u got.......

some fans dont wanna give him credit
some fans dont want him to coach
some fans disrespect him every chance they get

Its not like the man is walking around arrogantly asking folk to kiss his back side. he just trying to coach at his alma mater and make a living. Aint been disrespectful to no one. Some of yall really f'd up and others just flat out against color.
The Color thing is Bull $hit !! Fans don't care about color" Just Wins !! Drain the swamp !!

Here’s the cold hard truth on Tee.

He didn’t win anyone a NC. He was below average half the 1998 season. He woke up at Ga but was basically consistent in most games. He was outstanding vs SC, not very good vs Ark. He hit a couple big plays in NC game. He played well but defense basically won that game.

Played his heart out for Tennessee his senior yr. I though he was the best player on the field most games. Coaching let him down at Florida & Ark.

When “momma” called, Tee chose to stay at USC. That’s fine. I understand. His son chose another school. I understand that too. His son also encouraged others committed to Tennessee to spur Tennessee. That I’m not so comfortable with if you want to play the loyalty card.

When Tee was fired, he came home. He hasn’t done anything much but coach his position and cash checks. He’s not been very impactful as a recruiter. Tees a grown man. He should know you get firm offers in writing regardless. It’s all business. Just like him taking care of his.

Watching Netflix in your office and not going to coaches meeting will get you fired.

I'm not going to smear Tee with that sort of nonsense unless I saw it first hand. That's a total smear job until somebody comes forward with the video. That sort of smear could hurt Tee in the coaching profession and it's unfair IMO to do that to anybody making an honest living and Tee was doing that. The video showed him at every practice and he was there and engaged for every game. Hardly somebody snoozing and disengaged with his players.

White when introduced as AD he should have said he is only talking to current head coaches
Didn't Plowman clearly state that in her press conference? Tee does not have HC experience and Tee has nit yet been exonerated from the current UT scandal.
Why interview a guy who simply does not have the resume you want? It would be a waste of everyone's time.

Unfortunately, Tee came back resting on his laurels as the former quarterback and winning the National Championship while expecting a cushy job. Pruitt did very little to get Tee to do much because Fulmer requested that Tee be hired in the first place. There is a lot that went on within the program that caused division among the coaches and ultimately spread to the players. If the truth ever comes out which is doubtful, Fulmer did a lot of things in the background to "influence" the program. I think Pruitt is relieved to get away from Fulmer. It was time for Pruitt to be replaced, but let's not forget the forces at play with Fulmer as AD. I stated in another post that the day Fulmer had his hand in the removal of Johnny Majors, Fulmer could never be trusted. Why he was brought back as AD is very puzzling especially when he had his hand in replacing Majors as coach. I wanted to believe Fulmer had changed his ways and would be an asset, but he ended up being the virus that brought the program down farther. It will never be known had Fulmer kept his hands off and nose out of Pruitt's business, how it could have made a difference. Part of Fulmer's decision to retire is because some of the boosters and administration got wind of Fulmer's involvement in the football program, plus the decision to hire Pruitt. Fulmer has pretty much sealed what is left of his legacy from all that has happened. Let's hope with a new AD that the next coach won't have to deal with a voice telling him what to do and how to run his program.

So you know all this as fact but influential boosters only recently found out about it.

What's so difficult to understand that boosters are not in the know of a lot of things that go on within the program. They are some of the last ones to know. The boosters would have never known Fulmer was helping linemen during practice if it wasn't broadcast on the news. This is why I rarely post because some people are jumping at the bit to argue. If you don't believe something, then refuse to believe it. It's really that simple.

This info came from the same insiders that told us we were hiring Gruden.

I can't help but wonder how much CJP affected this staff, overall, with his micro-management. Did Tee give up? Because Jim Chaney certainly did. Chaney just laid down, and let Pruitt ruin himself and everyone else.

Tee's skin color AUTOMATICALLY makes him a top candidate in anything he does just cause. Has nothing to do with standards, requirements, resume, etc,.........JUST SKIN COLOR.
Not sure if you meant for it to but that sounds a bit on the racist side. Not sure that his skin color has anything to do with his accomplishments. Tee is a VFL, not to mention our last National Championship quarterback.

This stuff is sickening, eating your own makes you feel better how? Ya ought to be raising hell against Pruitt and Fulmer.
I would be interested in hearing what some of these posters have done for UT, other than go to the games. Any young man that chooses to wear the orange and give his all during his tenure here, deserves the fans respect. Folks fawn all over Peyton but he never won a single National Title. Say what you want about Tee having a loaded toaster, funny it was made up of a lot of Manning’s players. Tee led this team to a championship and for that I will always love the guy. Always good to have any VFL back coaching up our guys.

I like Tee. Sorry he walked into the kind of **** storm only UT can produce. He should go be an OC for rising program or HC for a low-tier program and see what he can do. Not much for him in Knoxville.

Also his friends should stfu on social media.

Read it in context of who I was replying too. He was a good QB. Was part of the team that won the NC. He hasn't demonstrated enough skill and knowledge to even be considered as a head coach. It's not racist, it's condescending.

Then for that I apologize. Just didn’t come across that way. It is easy to misinterpret the written conversation. Again, I apologize.
