Tee is my favorite QB at UT, bar none. I don't think he has demonstrated that he can do anything but recruit yet. I have seen no exceptional coaching ability from him. He has made statements in the past about only coming here as a head coach as if we were beneath him. Maybe IBJ and staff were, but to make those statements publicly soured a lot of feelings. If you can't handle honest criticism, then I can't help you. However, it is far from hate.

And let's not start with the millennial usage of the word hate. That word means a lot more to me than to just honestly criticize someone. Young people don't even really know what that word means anymore.

Understood. However, the anti-Tee-ism began long before his declining to return. Some never forgave him for winning the NC that "should have been Peyton's." This goes way back.

Man I sure hope that’s the right thing to do... love and respect me some Tee as a VFL, but isn’t Chaney the QB whisperer? We’re going to hire Tee as a QB Coach but only when Chaney’s not coach’n em up? If we’re bringing him on as a recruiter and WR Coach but really to be a recruiter, then I see it, just don’t think he’s going to be down with that.
Have they said what position Tee will coach? I'd be surprised if it was QB.

I have been around a long time and you are really making an effort to bring up people hating Tee because he won Peyton's NC. Peyton had his chances and didn't get it done. Maybe you should make an anonymous poll for folks to side one way or the other. I bet the number you are looking for would be statistically insignificant. A majority of us that have been critical of Tee coming back have to do with his public behavior since Kiffin's hire. Nothing more.

Doesnt Tee have an ex still living in Knox (Rodgers mom)? That could be a big reason why he and his first wife wasnt very warm to returning. But jobs making what Tee pulls down arent everywhere, even in college football.

Can't say if he will work out or not, TBD, but I have a feeling Pruitt would not take the chance on him if he thought he would end up having to fire one of VN's favorite sons. Has a reputation as a good recruiter and coaching ability is to be determined so let's just relax and watch the show whether it be a symphony or a sh!tshow. Even though we want our fav team to do great things, remembering that it isn't our job on the line makes it easier.

Yeah isn't his wife trying to have an acting or movie career or something. Knoxville ain't LA (thank God) so this may cause some tension at home (happy wife, happy life) and all that. Here's hoping for the best

Be around some more. You might learn something else. Meanwhile, this is for you. Might unruffle the feathers I've ruffled. Spiced orange ice tea, can also drink it heated. Calming.

This seems like a strange hire to me. Hear me out.....
Tee has never shown the least interest in coming back to TN before now. I am pretty sure he has turned TN down in the past.
Pruitt is only hiring people that have extensive experience in the SEC. Tee is a west coast guy, yes I know he coached WR at KY but that barley counts as SEC experience.
Why would Tee come back here? To be what QB coach? What other position is left unfilled?
All I can figure is they are going to give him a title like QB coach and Assoc OC. Maybe Chaney said "I'm going to retire in 1-2 years".

I don't know something just seems fishy about this to me. Glad Tee is back but the timing seems fishy.

Never really learned much from you. Your ancient alien astronaut view on life is a little mind numbing. Stay away from the intoxicants during the day is my advice.

I agree, I don't think he wants to be here and is only coming here to revive his coaching career...I wish him luck but also hope he gives his all for Tennessee...I dunno it just seems odd is all.
Couldn't agree more. I wish him success because he is a Vol and now on the staff, but it does seem odd.

After reading the post on this thread, I'm thinking Volnation should require people to register their political affiliation on Volnation. The political parties seem to be, "True VFL", "NegaVol", and I guess "Troll".

I guess the question then is, why do you read my posts if they're so mind-numbing? Perhaps you find them uh, ah, intoxicating. Why else would you read them?

I generally don't, I saw a comment that caught my eye on Tee......i.e. the fallacious use of the word "hate" so I commented. I normally don't even read your drivel.

Yet here you are responding to yet another of my posts. You must be drivel driven.

Rodgers mom is in Knoxville. Tee's wife didn't want to come to Knoxville anyway when Tee was sniffing around for the HC position. She had a "singing" career. Plus rumor was, she wasn't fond of Tee being around baby mama. Ergo the reason that I question him being upset because he was "overlooked" for a job he wasn't going to take and wasn't qualified for.

Welcome home Tee! I remember the pass he dropped right into Peerless Prices hands to seal the deal against FSU like it was yesterday. He brought a national championship to Tennessee, I wish him all the success in the world as a coach.

There's a lot of Tee haters among Vols Fandom. Which is why I wish he'd never return to the UT. Hope he shuts them up with lights out job performances.
I am not a "Tee Hater", but not sure how he will be as a coach or recruiter. His attitude when he interviewed before might be for something that us armchair QBs are not aware of. It could have been a family issue at the time or something like that. But, Fulmer and Pruitt know much more about this than any us VN fans do, so if they are cool with it then I am too. Time has a way of changing things and I am heartily cheering for his success. (Ahem, I just wish he could have influenced his son to be a Vol).
