Suns vs Lakers series thread

I don't agree with it to hat's extent, but you're kidding yourself if you don't think most of the media roots for the white guys.

If David Lee was black, hardly a single casual fan would know who the hell he is.

I don't disagree, but it isn't nearly as cut and dry as hat's making it out to be. Plenty of white athletes have been killed for failing to win the big one. We have probably the most hyped one here in Knoxville as an example.

Still, I find it pretty pathetic to criticize someone because of what others are saying . I don't know why what Mike Lupica writes about Nash has anything to do with Nash being "trash". In fact, it may be one of the all-time moronic comments from hat, no small feat.

Nash has a pair of MVP trophies that prove exactly that.

I do think that was a highly important factors with the MVP voting those years, but it's also just like football with media guys in that gaudy offensive numbers alone win all the awards and accolades while defense is taken for granted... Untill ALL the media favorites and D'Antoni-type squads get punked in the playoffs. See: All of Peyton's praise even before he won a Superbowl. In my opinion, Nash probably is the best strictly offensive point of this generation (though I will never consider him in any sort of "best overall pg" discussion since about 75% of the NBA can beat him in man) which is the other main contributing factor that got him those MVPs.

Also, the casual fan has no idea who David Lee is anyway because he plays for the Knicks. Besides, he did average 20 and 11 this year, hardly a stiff.

And, damn you for making me stick up for a Gator.

Good stats on a bad team amounts to approximately jack. David Lee wouldn't see the court for more than 15 minutes of a playoff game for a championship contender.

Disagree. He would be a role player, though. He has a different skill set, but Lee would be Lamar Odom on a contender. Odom had a similar output for the Clippers and then got good roles as a third option for a contender.

You really just crushed the feelings of Sharif Abdur Rahim, JR Rider, and Antoine Carr.

Except Rahim had chronic knee issues, Carr was a journeyman role player aside from a year or two and Rider was a headcase.

I'll remember him more for certain incidents upstairs at the Greek Cuisina in downtown.

(it was recently shut down BTW cited as a fire hazard. which it was. I'm sure there's a Z-Bo joke in there somewhere)

Zach Randolph also put up some gaudy, totally meaningless numbers in the Rose Garden.

When did Randolph ever play for a contender to show whether or not those numbers were a fluke? Where is the relevance to the discussion? Try and connect it somehow.

You keep up this M.O. of throwing out random, smug jibes, but not really saying anything.

I love how all of the "You're wrong Hat, Zach's matured" sheep in the Grizzlies thread have been notably silent the last couple of days. I'm stunned anyone fell for that piece of garbage's "I'm reformed" act.

So the NBA should be the NWA? No Whites Allowed, for it to be credible? I'm confused here.

Yeah, the home team will probably win out, so the Suns should be good to go Saturday. I just wonder how some of their young ones will react.

And, it's just in hat's nature to be a vile idiot and sit in judgment of everyone without any sense of self-reflection, the epitome of narcissm. I sat behind the Suns bench for a game of theirs in Milwaukee and Nash was as impressive a player as I've seen. His vision was remarkable as was his court awareness. He had 17 assists that night and at least ten must have been to guys on the opposite side of the court where he had to twist his body to deliver the ball.

you forgot to mention that every guard in the league loves to see him on defense, or did I miss that? His team is now playing a zone because he can't even guard the sorry points that the Lakers throw out there. He's a great offensive player, but arguing that his defensive issues aren't at the root of his teams never getting anywhere, though loaded with talent, is just wrong.

WHAT?

I'm glad the Lakers won, but I'm disappointed they let Phoenix back in the game. It may be wishful thinking, but I sure wish Bynum could get as healthy as possible.

Surely you aren't insinuating the reason Derrick Fisher looked like Deron Williams last night has anything to do with the fact that Prince Steve of Greasyhair is a stat hording loser who can't guard a dead skunk in the road? That would be blashphemous. You should reflect before putting such vile accusations out there, you narcissistic idiot.

I wasn't following either.

Why not? It wasn't that difficult if you read more than just what was put in bold. If Lee were on a contender, he would be like Odom as a good player who left a crappy team to play third fiddle for a championship team.

When did I argue any of that?

Once again, you argue a point I don't even make based upon tidbits you read from other posters. You really need to actually read my posts if you are going to put some arrogant, smug post that you think proves some point.

no way the lakers lose game 7 at home. this series is over. i do think they will have problems with the celtics size though.
