The S&C coaches practically live with the players 12 months a year. They are very important. I'd bet my next retirement check that our defense at least will show improvement in that department going forward. Not really sure what Heupel wants on his side of the ball.

Derek Dooley, Sal Sunseri, Jim McElwain, Billy Napier, Will Muschamp, Jeremy Pruitt, Steve Sarkisian. The list goes on and on.
Those were great assistants. So great, they got head coaching opportunities. Just like Lane Kiffin, Curt Cigneti, Kirby Smart, Bill O'Brien, etc.

Saban had the best assistants in the country. By far.

We got pushed around this year... Soft and getting hurt more than most... Also embarrassed ourself running out with dad bods against Ohio State pregame acting tough.... Seriously we look bottom half SEC physical wise... Vandy pushed us around...
The defense was slow...very poor linebacker. play, ineffective rush defense, very poor safety play . Never got off the field.Simply put the defensive play was horrible through the whole season !!!!!

What part about that post was false? Vandy made us look like middle schoolers. We were not very physical this past year. Way too many injuries and we aren’t big and strong enough. We need a much better S&C coach.
You need to poll the players. Ask them if they like the S&C coach. If any of them answer yes, fire him immediately and go get a Marine Drill Instructor. He will make them hate life and him in particular, but get them in the best shape of their lives.

Ask me how I know.

People won’t admit it, but a lot of our success in Heupel’s first 3 seasons occurred because of the scouting and recruiting that took place under pruitt.

Heupel got the offense figured out schematically which was the missing piece of the puzzle. We have to get bigger and stronger as a team, especially on defense.
Our d-line maybe but that 2ndary was horrendous. This is an awful take that has already proven to be untrue. Don’t forget RG was the d-line coach then as well.

I just feel like if Huepel isnt telling his team something similar to this every August when they report to fall camp, he's taking the wrong approach

All the guys I listed absolutely suck as coaches. Saban and money won those titles.

If you think Sark was anything less than great as an assistant, you have no point
How do you rate Sark’s performance this year?
Don’t think he broke even.

We shall see over time if he is a great coach or excelled as an assistant under guidance and with rosters put together by Saban. It has taken him 21/2 years to get his QB close to expectations.

Pronouncements either way right now would be foolish speculation.

Once again, he was a great assistant before Saban.

His performance as a head coach does not change that. Even then, he’s the best HC they’ve had in 20 years

August? They should know that right now, and the new guys as soon as they step foot on campus.
Yeah I know. I was just trying to illustrate a point that HE sets the tone for what the standard is at Tennessee for S&C.

"I cant promise that we'll be the best team in the SEC next year. But we WILL be the best conditioned! That I can promise you!"

I guarantee you Cignetti says something similar to that to his players!

Robert Salleh absolutely sucked as a HC, but he's one of the two or three best DCs in the NFL. Same goes for a lot of guys who have gotten HC jobs because they were great coordinators/assistants. Sark has more than proven himself in that front no matter what you say
