Starters That Kiffin Recruited

Wrong again. I said it was extremely obvious that Bray was better. But considering he couldn't compete with Jonathan Crompton or beat out Nick Stephens, I'm certain the competition would not have been close.

Then Bray should be drafted a lot higher than Coleman, right?

:lolabove:

I told everyone on this board Dooley did more in his first two weeks than Kiffin did.

And who is in the supermajority now????

Dooley pulled more contributors his first two weeks on the job than Kiffin did that whole class. In fact, I believe we have more contributors from that two weeks than Kiffin's whole tenure.

This is terribly flawed logic at best.

Of course; I was summarizing, but as long as our coach wasn't weird enough to turn him away from the program in those 20 minutes, he was always coming here.

Do you really think a coaching staff is not that important to a recruit?? Its silly to say that as long as the coach wasnt a complete moron, Hunter was coming here. A coaching staff is one of, if not the biggest reason players choose schools when the big boys are competing for a recruit. Kiffin's staff obviously had an effect on Hunter and Rogers but that was just showing him the campus. They both were obviously really impressed with the new staff.

But...But...I thought you were counting all those players to Robert Neyland.

Actually, I threw Kiffin a bone trying to keep it from looking as gawd-awful as it is. Once utchavis made his unfortunate statement (trying to beef up the Kiffin numbers) it became academic at that point, even for the candle-lighters.

When yawyaw picked up the phone, they were no longer Kiffin recruits. That I have been generous and still give Kiffin Bray et al was my perogative. That the EEs committed to TN and its traditions best encapsulated by Robert Neyland is exactly the kind of somewhat surrealism we've endured since the Hambone Experiment.

But we know, thanks to your nihilism, what the candle-lighters believe:

Kiffin >> Tennessee >> Neyland.

Thanks for exposing your hand this thread. Maybe you can PM hatvol for the best method of cyberspace hari-kari?

I'll give Rogers to Dooley, no questions asked. Offering Nance is what got Rogers in orange.

Not budging on Hunter, though. Hunter was a Vol in 09, but was keeping it quiet.

Coaching staffs are generally very important. I'm saying that Dooley the best head start he could possibly have had, and a pretty large one with Rogers as well.

Terribly flawed logic is an art form reserved for only the best of posters.

Like ones who think Dooley turned a kid who had no interest in Tennessee from LSU in 5 days.

because "kiffin deserves credit for swaying a guy who came here anyway after lane moved 3000 miles west" is so much more logical.

Im not saying that Hunter wasnt vol bound, but a coaching change, especially in the manner it happened for us is always bad for recruiting. Dooley deserves credit for keeping him here just as much as kiffin does for bringing him

I'm glad you think that.

I actually went to the University of Oakland Raiders before transferring to Tennessee. How did you know?

I wish I could stay and win some more, but I'll let y'all continue your hate-induced double standards without me.

Im just saying, you cant take away the fact that dooley kept the class intact. Kiffin made UT look like a mid-program the way he left. We lost out on a good amount of players when Kiffin bolted, thats why im saying Dooley deserves just as much credit.

But he didn't want to go to Florida. That's what I'm trying to say. He wanted to come to Tennessee. He had wanted to be a Vol for at least a month.

I can go along with Hunter wanting to be a Vol. I'm just not so sure he would have actually "inked" with Kiffin.

Either way, I'm glad Hunter is a Vol.

you'll receive all credit for any further message board victories in this thread even after those arguements will happen after you have left.

oh, and dre browles is a kiffin recruit.

I give Dooley credit for the guys who I feel weren't going to be a Vol before January 11th.

“With the little bit of time he’s been able to establish with (coach Dooley),” Scott said, “he felt a little more comfortable and more trusting with this guy than the other Tennessee staff. “His family also felt better with the decision. I just hope it’s the right decision.”

Even Hunter likes Dooley more than Kiffin. Actually, just about everyone outside of southern california does with the exception of about 10 cult-like followers on this board.

Dooley deserves credit for keeping the class together and adding to it with guys like Stone and Neal that we had wanted before. With Hunter specifically, though, he had pretty much the easiest recruiting job of all time.

Well we can agree to disagree because i really dont see how keeping about 18 recruits to stay with a coach they know nothing about, with a less than stellar background, in 2 weeks is the easiest recruiting job in the world.
