Starters That Kiffin Recruited

General Neyland.

Game, Set, and Match.

Like I said, I've been gifting Kiffin Bray et al. And Kiffin's recruiting still sucks relative to where it should be. But if you want to play the acolytes game like chavis, it's over, Rock!

I just want to quote this to quote it.

Nice attempt at revising history, but Jose wasn't going to be part of the 2010 class even if Kiffin had stayed. He had long since decommitted.

Guess again. See the 12/9/09 article on TOS about UT's aggressive effort to get him to keep his commitment to Tennessee after Gran departed; he didn't commit to UCF until after Dooley came in.

Here's a few other guys Kiffin told to "go elsewhere" or lost in 2009:

OL Morgan Moses (starting @ Virginia)
OL Peter White (starting @ Maryland)
WR Marlon Brown (starting @ Georgia)
RB Lennon Creer (on RB award lists pre-season)
DB D.J. Swearinger (starting @ South Carolina)
LB Shackleford (starting @ Ole Miss, pre-injury)
DT Langley (starting @ Texas Tech)

I'd prefer any of those over the litter of busts from his 2009 class...

Regarding Hunter:

1. He was an LSU lock. Everyone knew he was going to LSU
2. In November we suddenly started hearing that Hunter may be unsure and Hunter took an official to Tennessee
3. 5 days after Dooley was hired, an LSU lock decommits and commits to Tennessee

I'm sorry, but if you think that, within 5 days, Dooley was able to turn a kid who wasn't interested in Tennessee, you're completely dense. Hunter wanted to come to Tennessee, then the coach left. At that time, Hunter wasn't fully committed to either Tennessee or LSU. Once he talked to the new coach, he was back on board. Had Kiffin not gotten him in the bag, though, there's no chance Dooley would have turned an LSU lock in 5 days.

Wrong! All this says to me is you had a kid who loved UT but could not commit because he could not play for Kiffin. Once UT took out the trash and hired dooley, Hunter decided UT was his school.

This is my take on your explanation, and this would definately make Hunter a dooley recruit.

Kiffin had already swayed him. It's been mentioned numerous times. It counts as a toss up. It could go either way. Hunter would have came here if Kiffin were still coach.

Has it been mentioned many times here through the usual rumor mill or was it actually mentioned by someone in the know?

It was never an option. Hunter was coming here partially because of the track and field program.

So Kiffin liked him so much, that he didn't even offer him at USC? Is that your compelling logic for why he expressed 0 interest in USC after Kiffin came in there?

Shocking.

Sorry you don't think the house Neyland built is worthy for recruits.

I just wanted to quote this to make sure everybody knows where the Acolytes stand:

Kiffin >> Tennessee >> General Neyland.

Thanks for EXPOSING your nonsense so comprehensively.

He was a Vol that wanted to know who the next coach was. That's why he expressed 0 interest in USC.

Did Kiffin offer Bray? No, because he was coming here. There was no point.

had kiffin not left we would have more than likely landed all of the 2010 rivals' top-10 players in america. kiffin was known for signing day surprises, switching guys who were committed elsewhere. what more evidence do you dense people need!

He's not making as many waves as Creer, but Paige did well in an injury season, and he DEFINITELY would have contributed last year especially when GJ was out.

I could care less who takes credit for recruiting whom........I just want to win games.

SGM and 182 getting owned for defending Kiffin. Who would have thought that was going to happen?

You cant say Hunter or Rogers is Kiffin's recruits because we have no idea if he would of came or not. That being said, im sure Kiffin's staff recruited both players hard but at the end of the day, its impressive for a coach to be put in the same situation as Dooley and still land those top players. Im more impressed with Dooley switching Hood to dt and him becoming apparently becoming a force and turning Malik Jackson into an all sec player. Would he have been a starter right now if we still had kiffin as coach or would Malik even get a chance to show what he could do?? Thats what impresses me more than anything, both Kiffin and Dooley are really good recruiters. You cant deny either of them that.

Incorrect. Kiffin had him in Orange, he was just going to be another NSD surprise, just like we Vols like 'em. Dooley needed to get the ball rolling, so when he talked to Hunter and knew that Hunter was still on board, he said to go ahead and go public.

I believe you may be making assumptions.

Hunters high school coach said

“With the little bit of time he’s been able to establish with (coach Dooley),” Scott said, “he felt a little more comfortable and more trusting with this guy than the other Tennessee staff.

“His family also felt better with the decision.
I just hope it’s the right decision.”

This is a fact.

Hunter could have just as easily gone to Florida had Dooley not pulled him in.(IMO)

acolytes just light candles

Did Kiffin offer Bray? No, because he was coming here. There was no point.

The reference is to Hunter, not Bray. Someone's trying to explain why Hunter loved Kiffin, but failed to even visit USC after Kiffin went there.

Per Bray, it was clear Kiffin considered Bray below Scroggins, Rettig, Heaps, Rees, Sims & Hendrix.

Hatred blinds many to that fact. Dooley did well with the end of last year, however I'm still unsure.

Stats are hollow. Colt Brennan isn't a great QB.

Kiffin >> Tennessee >> Gen Neyland.

Thanks for exposing yourself as the nihilist you are.

Stats don't matter, telling EEs not to go to class doesn't matter, dissing our traditions don't matter....

Listening to you... doesn't matter.
