It is better for recruiting. Look how many recruits post pictures of themselves in our alternate uniforms. Those exist only because of Nike. Smoky Grey, Dark Mode, Throwbacks, Alternate helmets, etc have all been done at a high level becuase of Nike and all play a part in our brand appeal.Strange. Didn't everybody say partnering with Nike was better for recruiting because that's what the kids wanted? Has this attitude changed?
I agree with the 90s shiny jerseys...I actually still have an Ainge #10 that is the shiny orange...i always thought those jerseys looked amazing in home and away. Lets get a hashtag going... #BringBackTheShineI think Nike has much better fan gear designs but that's really about all they offer. I hate how our numerals are no longer traditional block. It's disheartening that Nike apparently doesn't value UT as an elite athletic program.
In my view Adidas made the best looking UT jersey of all time with the 1997 road uni. The embroidered numerals with that shiny white under the lights during a night game will make you believe in a higher power. If Adidas agrees to make them exactly like that then I don't see how you turn down the deal.
Having said that, adidas fan gear always looks awkward.
I think Under Armour does a great job with all their college football unis. UT would be a huge school for them. We should really give them a chance.

And while we're at it, can we get the black outlines again on the orange numbers?

Except we’ll spend the $100 mil on a new donor bathroom by the new luxury level...Genius move by us. I say we agree to a 400 million 4 year deal but 100 mil is for NIL only. Allows Adidas to vet and sign kids to contracts that we approve but we get to use their lawyers who know how to sign contracts with athletes.
This is where I’m torn, I hate Nike but I love Nike. When Butch Jones and company took us from Adidas to Nike 10 years ago, it was costing millions every year to use Nike. Plus that company is 100% woke joke. I hope Tennessee switches.
