Adidas on the field quality was terrible. as others have pointed out, I don't want to see the team out there with three different oranges on. it made us look like a charity case, and not a proud program.

the team loved it too when we went to Nike.
It’s all going to come down to the money. It won’t matter what players think or what the fans think if more money can be made through the contract and apparel sales with one side or the other.

The Nike deal was $1 million a year. People on TOS are saying this adidas deal would be worth $15-$20 million a year. If this deal can directly improve our NIL budget, then I am all for it. But, it seems like none of these "money plays" like the Pilot sponsor ever really lead to improvements in recruiting. This is a big move and if it's done, we need to have their best guys working on our jerseys and we gotta have a big jump in recruiting or else it'll backfire.
Nike deal was $1 million cash and $3.5 million in product annually for a total effective value of $4.5 million.

Adidas could be in range of $10-15 million in total value a year. We'll see what Nike is willing to match. There are ways to massage the numbers if they're close to stay with Nike.

Personally, I prefer Under Armour, but I'm a contrarian.

I’ve really loved Nike and against a change but then I saw these numbers and was a little disappointed how little Nike values us… it’s a little bit of a slap in the face..

If Louisville really got $16 million a year, Tennessee should get at least $20 million a year! What Tennessee is being paid by Nike is terrible! Even though they weren't in a good position success wise to get a huge contract with Nike. Tennessee was ripped off by Nike. I say screw Nike. I don't like them after they supported Kaepernick anyway!!! I try not to buy Nike anymore. That is why I haven't bought much UT stuff as of late. I will buy much more should UT go with another brand! I don't mind All Day I Dream About Sex at all!!!

I've still got a couple of Russel brand Coaches Polos floating around in the closet !!
I had a Russel Athletic Jersey when I was little, I feel like it was #15, probably around ‘85??

I still have my #47, Tyrone Hines, white Sports Belle jersey though.

Agree 100% and I absolutely loved the feel, fit, and quality of their T Shirts. I still have Adidas shirts I wear and they're over a decade old. My Nike Tees wear out after a year or so
C’mon double d!
We all know Nike is trash but it’s so swaggy and blingy!

If those numbers are real and Adidas is willing to pay us like that I’m fine with switching. But I do like the look of Nike better. It looks better across all sports. Adidas football unis are mediocre at best and just ugly at worst, basketball are okay but everything after that is awful.

I'm more of a Puma guy myself.
One of the few pairs of shoes I think of from the past was a sweet pair of Red Pony white stripe turf cleats. I had two pairs and loved them both playing Babe Ruth baseball. They were sweet.

Sources: UT Athletics Mulling New Apparel Deal With Adidas — FOX SPORTS KNOXVILLE

Sources have indicated to Fanrun Sports that the likelihood of Tennessee Athletics moving its apparel rights from Nike to Adidas is “high.”

The University of Tennessee and Adidas have already met about a potential reunion, according to people familiar with the situation.

Adidas feels good about how the meetings went. They are going hard after Tennessee and landing the deal is currently their top priority.

It is accurate to say at this point that Adidas has presented an offer. The company was UT’s apparel partner pre-2015 when the school agreed to a deal with Nike.

The Adidas deal isn’t done yet, though, as Nike still has a card to play known as “first right of refusal.”

I know most won't like this but I'm for it. I'm a big guy and I always preferred the fit of Adidas T Shirts and Long Sleeves to Nike.
Didn’t Adidas jack up/ wing the Vol Orange?

DP probably knows the specifics but it sounds like people are comparing two different figures. $1M sounds like the cash to the school whereas the $15-20M sounds like cash + apparel. If that $15M-$20M is cash I need to take a break and make sure I don't have Adidas in my portfolio.
