The Nike deal was $1 million a year. People on TOS are saying this adidas deal would be worth $15-$20 million a year. If this deal can directly improve our NIL budget, then I am all for it. But, it seems like none of these "money plays" like the Pilot sponsor ever really lead to improvements in recruiting. This is a big move and if it's done, we need to have their best guys working on our jerseys and we gotta have a big jump in recruiting or else it'll backfire.

Adidas definitely won’t help in recruiting lol nobody even wears or uses adidas anymore

DP probably knows the specifics but it sounds like people are comparing two different figures. $1M sounds like the cash to the school whereas the $15-20M sounds like cash + apparel. If that $15M-$20M is cash I need to take a break and make sure I don't have Adidas in my portfolio.

The overall deal with Nike is $1.2mil in cash to the school and $3.5mil in apparel, per year. So $4.7mil/year total

I want whoever is going to pay more and wants to put 80’s style stripes on the sleeve and that fixes the numbers back to how they were in the old days

As a product of the 80s and 90s, I must admit, I’m a Nike whore.
🤷‍♂️

Looking forward to the Adidas unis with a different color orange for the Jersey, helmet T and pant stripe...
😒
If you look back at the last few years of our Adidas unis they actually got the orange matched on all those things you mentioned

What do you think they are gonna suck if they are wearing adidas?
No worse than we otherwise would. but we would lose a lot of the power of our orange when the orange on the pants is different than the orange on the shirts, which is different than the orange power T on the helmets.

Based on the numbers in the news articles, Tennessee is getting ripped off now by Nike. 5 mil per year with how popular we are, and how popular our competition is in the SEC, is a cheap deal for Nike. We have been one of the most watched teams the last couple of years so Nike gets a lot of cheap advertisement from us.

Either we go with Adidas and make more money, or Nike ponies up and we make more money. Either way it was time to renegotiate a Hart era deal.

In the late 80s and 90s Nike shoes were quality. Been absolute cheap dog crap since. Maybe Skechers are worse T but that is about it. I can’t think of any friends that run or hike in Nike.

Brooks, saucony the best by far. Adidas and new balance just behind.

Nike apparel has a cleaner look but is cheap overpriced crap. Don’t care what the team does but Nike shoes and cleats, at least for the general population, are the worst shoes ever made. Walmart rack brands for $5 hold up longer and are nicer to the feet for any use
