There is no integrity in college football. Schools will fire a coach quickly, and coaches will only to other schools quickly. It's a job. Everyone is just doing what they feel is the best for them.
Thats what all humans do. You couldn't fault Jones if he went to Michigan, just like you can't fault kiffin for going to USC.
Im sure most people on here would agree that if they were the coach at USC or Michigan they would leave, or at least think about, for Tennessee.
There are people at Central Michigan and Cincinnati still stewing about the "bricks" they bought, hook, line and sinker.
"Coaching" and "truth" are not meant to go in the same sentence. Feelings and relationships change; I've always thought top tier coaches are a bit thin skinned--don't feel appreciated, recruits don't jump through hoops, social media rags them all the time. Any college coaching gig must be stressful.
They are not paid to be loyal to their employer; they are/should be paid to produce results. I don't worry about their longevity or "get the money while they can". so many contracts these days are set up with automatic annuities, etc. Any top tier coach is set for life, post coaching.
Why would anyone trust CBJ? or any other coach? We like/defend them to "outsiders" because he's "ours" for now. As a school donor (which I am), I consider it more of a pay forward approach not a want to see a reward for the coach. I don't support the school because CBJ is there; I support the school in spite of that.
